Y/N's POV
...

...
..-???: "Y/N...? Come on, Y/N...wake up..."
"...hm...?"
I slowly opened my eyes, and was met with Mukuro's gentle smile...
"Yawn...good morning."
Mukuro: "good morning, Y/N..."
I smiled tiredly, and sat up from my bed.
"Hey...about last night...I guess I must've looked pretty pathetic, huh? A guy like me, who's able to take down a whole group of people by himself without any effort, had a nightmare and cried like a baby...and in front of you, no less...it makes me feel ashamed."
Mukuro: "...you shouldn't be."
"...eh?"
Mukuro: "you shouldn't be ashamed of showing your emotions, Y/N. It's normal for people to cry."
"...for girls, maybe. As for me...I've grown with the thought that men shouldn't feel anything considered "feminine"...which would be crying."
Mukuro: "what...?"
"I've been taught that...if I showed people how weak I was...I would be humiliated for the rest of my life...I would be a joke of a man."
Mukuro: "Y/N...whoever put those ideas into your head is wrong..."
Mukuro crawled over to me, and wrapped her arms around my torso, hugging me.
Mukuro: "You're as much of a human as everyone else, Y/N...just because you cry doesn't mean you're less of a man...in fact...I think it shows just how much you trust people if you can cry in front of them...why do you even have these thoughts in the first place, Y/N...? What happened to you...?
"...you wanna know what happened?...well...I'll tell you. I'll tell you why I think like this..."
Flashback
"...mom?"
Mom: "yes, Y/N?"
"Why can't men cry?"
Mom: "...who told you that, dear?"
"Dad did...after he hit me again. I cried, and he told me that men shouldn't cry...that it made me look like a pussy..."
Mom: "what?! No, no, Y/N...crying doesn't make you look like that. Crying is something everyone does, even your dad."
"B-but dad said-"
Mom: "but nothing, Y/N. Listen to me...your dad and I...we grew up in a different time, with different things...your dad is stuck in the past."
"Stuck...in the past?"
Mom nodded.
Mom: "your dad is stuck with an old mentality that his father burned into his mind...but you, Y/N...you have the chance to be different. You have the chance to break the cycle of abuse."
"I...I do?"
Mom: "yes, honey...so, when you grow up, and have kids of your own...don't teach them what your father taught you. Instead...teach them about how crying is okay, and that making mistakes is part of every human being."
"...okay, mom...I'll...I'll treat my kids better than dad treated me! I promise!"
Mom: "That's my Y/N...come on, call your sister so that way us three can go and get ice cream."
