Perry and I have not called each other since Christmas, though we did exchange several text messages, most of which revolve around either one of us saying hello and making small meaningless talk. Eventually, we stopped talking all together, yet neither of us unfollowed each other on Instagram.

As time passed, I moved out of my parents' house and went to study Cinematography and Film at New York University. Despite my own emotional baggage, lack of social skills and having to adjust to living in a new environment, I somehow managed to overcome these impediments. Along the way, I also met some really interesting people, who I now work with, whilst living in America. Overall, I would say that my life has significantly improved since meeting Perry, who I would stalk on social media every once in a while. Mainly to see if she was okay. As far as I'm aware, she has graduated culinary school and is still living in Australia. Frankly, that's all I know, as a year ago she deleted all her posts on every social media site. I didn't think much at first till I tried searching her name online and found nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's like she disappeared without a trace.

Five years later, there was still no sign of Perry. I had no clue as to where she was, what she was doing or if she's even alive. As for myself, I became a well-established director and screenwriter in the Indie film industry. I made several short films and movies, which most people would have never seen. All in all, I had a good life. I love my job and I make enough money to sustain myself. I should be happy, and I am... to an extent. There's still this feeling of longing lingering in my mind, which bothers me more frequently as I age. It was making living less tolerable day by day. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could make me feel different about it. At least that's what I thought, until I posted a sneak preview of my new film and the first person to like it was a user named, "PerrytheREALplatypus." Upon clicking on her username and quickly looking at her profile, a mixture of emotions flooded me as a grin appeared on my face.

She's still alive.
