"I'm simply not going."
Is what Taehyung concluded, once the next evening came along.
The male has been pacing back and fort in his own home, nearly tugging his locks out because he doesn't know what to do.
But now he does.
He is going to lock the door, go back upstairs, and take a nap to pass some time or whatever.
Yes.
That's exactly what he is going to do.
He nibbles on his lip and hesitantly closed the door, taking an U-turn and going up to his room.
As if he's relaxed enough to fall asleep.
His thoughts are racing.
What if the alpha is going to come for him? What would happen if he'd ever stumble across him by accident?
Taehyung bets he'd end up dead.
But he also reckoned that going back would indicate death, too. And he knows one thing; if he stays inside now, he'll live.
For now, that is.
"There's no way I'll ever see him again." He tells himself, reassuringly.
He glances outside, seeing the moon shine brightly. It probably reflected perfectly in his own brown orbs.
He stands up from his bed and walks towards the window, crossing his arms and trying to scan the area through the darkness.
The event for today is nearing its end already. It's late, most of the wolves have hopefully already returned safe and well.
His mind travelled back to the alpha.
The way he looked at him in all his glory, red piercing eyes staring through his soul. Fangs on display and his perfect black locks.
And his scent, god, his scent─
Shit.
The omega suddenly realised what he is doing.
How could he ever be so stupid to go against his orders?
Jimin was right. He mustn't disobey him. Yet, there he is, doing exactly that.
"I'm so, so stupid.." He curses at himself, running downstairs and out of his own home.
Adrenaline pumped right through his veins, his breath was ragged purely because of fear.
Knowing he's going back is already bad enough on its own, but considering the circumstances of him trying to go against his words, is like adding gasoline to the fire.
Once he arrived at the registration and glanced into the distance, he was met with the sight of two wolves coming back, probably the last ones of today.
"I─ uh─ I need to enter. Today. I know it's late, but I really need to enter today." Is what Taehyung said hastily, his eyes trained on the dark woods.
The alpha in front of him actually laughed out loud, scanning him up and down with a raised brow.
"Those two wolves over there are the last ones. There are no more dominants left. I could register you for tomorrow, but that's it."
"No, you don't understand, I have to go today!" The amount of fear in Taehyung's body was rocketing, he wasn't even aware of how wierd and suspicious his words sounded.
"Omega, I don't know if you heard what I just said, but I'll repeat it once more. There are no dominants left, there is no point in running now, as there is no one to run from. I'll sign you up for tomorrow. What's your name?"
Taehyung gulps.
"It's Taehyung. Kim Taehyung."
The alpha was about to write his name down when he paused his actions.
"You participated yesterday." He retorted warily, scanning the boy up and down.
"I know.." Taehyung whispered, hoping the other would just write his name down without any further ado.
The alpha hesitated, his wierd look twisting, but in the end he shrugged. With that, he wrote his name down anyway.
"Thank you.." The omega says, proceeding to walk away.
But he wasn't going home.
No, far from it.He has seen the lists now, the one from today and the one for tomorrow. The one from yesterday still lingers in the back of his mind. He hasn't missed the way all of the names have been scrapped, marked, apart from two names and those belonged to the wolves who were on their way back.
Taehyung isn't stupid.
The alpha he encountered had never enlisted himself, nor was he from his pack.
So why would he?
He avoided the last few people that were present and ran away. When he noticed that there were no more wolves around, he shifted, and off to the same forest he went.
As long as he still goes, the alpha won't be mad. At least, that is what he hopes for.
The omega sniffs the air, a little sneeze left his nose because of the cold.
The alpha said to make it difficult for him, so that is exactly what the omega plans to do.
He drops his shirt next to a random bush, and takes off to the opposite direction.
He hopes that the action would create confusion. Two could play this game.
But it isn't like he has another choice anyway. Some part of the omega enjoyed this. Somehow.
But the rational part of him isn't letting him enjoy it, because in the end, he knows the possible outcome.
He stops running after a while, looking into every direction trying to pick up on sounds, scents and what more.
And then he sat down.
One fluffy ear of his peaked up and the other was flat on his head, not sure whether to enjoy the rush or feel terrified.
A part of him wants to see the alpha again, and the other part of him wants to run far away from him.
He has never been more confused and conflicted in his life.
He sat there for what felt like ages. He decided to lay down, his head tucked between his front paws.
Those minutes felt like hours to him. It was getting colder and colder, he was glad he has his warm fluffy coat to shield him from it.
He listens to the sound of an owl in the distance, some crickets chirping.
Eventually his thoughts got the best of him.
What if the alpha isn't going to show up?
What if he had made it too difficult?
What if─
Then he felt it.
A weight jumped on top of him.
He didn't have to look up to see who it was, the scent had made it clear already.
He saw two huge black paws next to his own. When he tried to look up, he was met with fur.
A low growl erupted from the dominant's chest, he bit Taehyung's ear playfully after throwing a familiar shirt next to him.
Taehyung's heart flipped in his chest.
The other has found him again.
