Seokjin thought his hours of practising his magic in secret finally paid off as he watched the little figurines play tag on his table. The fiery little humans ran around, the shortest one chasing the others with his hands outstretched. The fire did not light the wood at all, credits to Seokjin's impressive control over it.
Seokjin was incredibly bored. The only activities that he did to pass time was reading books and practising his control over his element. He fenced sometimes but it was never an exciting match. The swordsman would not put effort into fighting, his reasoning being that he did not want to hurt the delicate prince.
Such rubbish.
His sisters were busy in the library from dawn to dusk as they wanted to complete an extra course in their studies. Jungkook was always engaged with work at the stables especially after a lot of the horses got infected by some disease. Thankfully, it was curable and was not contagious to humans. Hoseok ran errands for the royal family in the palace so he had less time to spare.
Seokjin moved his fingers over the flames as of he was moulding clay. He fused the tiny figures into two males that were much bigger in size. He coaxed his mind to remember to very familiar faces and focus on them until the fire took shape of it. The red and white columns danced between his palms that barricaded them from shifting position. After some time, the mini versions of Hoseok and Yoongi stood on his table.
They were about the size of Seokjin's hand, from the tip of his middle finger to the base of his palm. They were staring at each other with a smile etched on their lips, like usual, but this time they were not trying to hide it.
Seokjin, with a grin of his own, willed them to dance. Fire Yoongi placed his hands on Fire Hoseok's petite waist while the latter held his partner's shoulders. A hum echoed inside Seokjin's throat, his sealed lips forbidding the song to be heard by anyone but his fire friends and himself. The two slow danced to the beat of Seokjin's humming, their smiles never fading and their eyes never leaving the other.
Seokjin thought how happy Hoseok would be if this ever transpired in real life. He would be beyond happy to see Hoseok beam at Yoongi while being in his arms.
Hoseok had confessed to Seokjin during his lunch break that the oldest prince of Nahae and he had fallen for each other. He sported a bittersweet smile as he recounted how they planned to run away, Hoseok from his duties and Yoongi from his label of a prince.
Seokjin understood forbidden love more than anything so he had embraced Hoseok tight but uttered nothing.
"Now kiss." Seokjin ordered with a slight giggle and pushed the duo's heads towards each other by his crooked fingers.
Instead of kissing, they headbutted accidently and fell on their bottoms. Seokjin laughed at the silliness of it and was about to attempt the kiss again when a voice called out from outside the door.
"Be ready in five minutes and come down to the throne room immediately." His mother's stern voice commanded, her footsteps fading away right after.
Seokjin sighed. He really had no energy in dealing with some old Duke and his overly perverted son who would rather strip Seokjin naked with his eyes than focus on his sisters. But disobeying his mother would cost him weeks of riding Kimchi to the woods behind the palace so Seokjin obliged.
Fixing his hair, Seokjin headed towards the throne room. Upon his arrival, a couple in their 50s and a young lady bowed at him which he returned. Seokjin was confused to see only his parents present in the room with his sisters nowhere to be seen.
"Duke Wonho, this is my son, Prince Seokjin." The queen introduced him in her feigned sweet voice.
"A pleasure to meet you, Prince. I am the Duke of Hangdong and this is my Duchess." The man referred to his wife who smiled at Seokjin. Her smile made shivers run down Seokjin's spine. It was one of those smiles that could manipulate your mind into whichever direction she ordered.
