Hand in hand, they stood in the serene silence of the night at Taehyung's balcony. The dark blanket that lay over their heads was dotted with a thousand stars with the full moon in their midst.
The moonlight fell gracefully on Taehyung's face, illuminating his handsome features and causing his unearthly eyes to twinkle just like the stars. His soft blonde locks were swept behind, his smooth forehead in display for Seokjin to drool over. He wore a simple pair of silk pyjamas which did not dampen the prince's gorgeousness. Seokjin never quite understood how a person could look so sweet to the eyes despite what his attire was. He also did not understand how Taehyung managed to look heavenly in the morning with his bird nest of a hair, chapped lips and puffy face. He must not be from the human world.
Or maybe Seokjin was just in love.
The more he thought of the word love, the more warmth he felt generate from their intertwined fingers.
Honestly, how could he not be in love with that man?
Taehyung had a heart full of kindness and amity, a smile bright with sincerity, a mind with enough creativity and vision to rebuild the world universe from dust and a soul rich with strength, confidence and valour. Taehyung was barely judgemental and was always ready to accept everyone for what they were. Taehyung's aura was strong enough to make the bravest warriors fall onto their knees but also warm enough to make anyone feel at home. In addition to all that and many more, he was unbelievably beautiful.
'Just like the stars', Seokjin thought.
Seokjin truly did love him and he felt no ounce of regret or guilt in it. Why would he? He was not in control of whom his heart chose. He chose Taehyung, and Taehyung chose him. There was nothing wrong in it.
Or was there?
Seokjin had been pondering on it for some time and it would be a lie of he said he did not feel a bit guilty at times. By having Taehyung's affection to him, was not he interfering with the plan to unite the two kingdoms? Wasn't he breaking his sister's heart?
But did Jisoo truly love Taehyung or was she power hungry?
Seokjin would have never thought Jisoo to be greedy for authority but her change had been showing signs that she was more interested in Taehyung's position as the crown prince rather than his love. Morover, Jennie had overheard Jisoo speaking to their mother in the Queen's chambers regarding her future as Queen of Nahae. She was thanking their mother for agreeing to such an arrangement as she had always dreamt to have the reins of power in her hands. She shared her plots of how she would change some rules and regulations of the land once she was married to Taehyung and the Prince was crowned as King of Nahae. None of her words mentioned anything about her love for Taehyung or how she was exhilarated to marry the man she had fallen for.
In addition to that, Jisoo had the audacity to jest about how she wanted to treat the other princes and her siblings (once they are married to the princes) as slaves. The Queen did not much comment on it and shrugged it off as if her youngest daughter was just fooling around. However, Jennie confirmed that there was hint of seriousness in her tone when she said it.
Seokjin as well as Rose and Lisa were disheartened to hear such harsh words from their sister after Jennie had revealed that exchange between their mother and Jisoo.
Had Jisoo always felt like this? A sweet, kind veil that hid such a spiteful heart within?
"You seem distracted, my Prince."
Seokjin sighed and leaned his head against Taehyung's shoulder. Taehyung let got of Seokjin's hand and wrapped his arm around the male's waist, holding him close. Seokjin placed a hand over Taehyung's chest and felt the latter's heart pulsing rhythmically.
