Voight, Jay and Upton pulled into the gravel lot behind a warehouse, both of their vehicles' wheels crunching on the gravel.
Burgess and Atwater were staged in their vehicle near the road, while Ruzek posted up on a roof above with his rifle out trained on the meeting area.
After about ten minutes Jay got on his radio
"Sarg, are we sure this guy is gonna show?"
"He'll show."
As if on cue two more vehicles pulled into the lot, a black SUV and a white cargo van.
The SUV flashed his lights
"Let's go"
Voight radioed
The three officers stepped from their cars. Jay and Upton had their rifles slung across their chests as Hank walked forward meeting a guy who looked to be in his 30s in the middle.
"Charlie."
"Voight."
The pair shook hands
"Why does it not surprise me that Voight knows the Leader of the Black Disciples?"
Upton mumbled over to her partner.
"I've learned to not even question it."
Jay stated, his arms hanging loosely at his side ready to react if need be.
"We still gotta deal?"
Charlie asked
"We do. As far as anyone knows they're just some wannabe bangers trying to start trouble. No ties to any gangs."
Charlie nodded before signaling someone in the van. The side door slid open and two younger men were shoved out where they fell to the ground. Their hands were bound with tape in front of them, their eyes and mouths also covered.
Jay and Upton started walking forward before being stopped by Voight holding a hand up.
"Sadie first."
Charlie signaled those in the SUV. Another man got out of the front and opened the back door, reaching in grabbing Sadie.
She shrieked in surprise as she was pulled from the vehicle, her hands still bound, tape over her eyes.
The man stood behind her holding her in place. Jay and Upton's hands went to their weapons when a silver handgun was placed against Sadie's temple.
"Woah! Hey!"
Voight yelled, turning his attention back towards Charlie who looked equally stunned.
"Put the damn gun down!"
He yelled at his guy before angrily striding towards him.
They exchanged some heated words that the unit was unable to hear, then Charlie took Sadie by the arm and led her to the middle of the two groups.
"I give you the girl and we even?"
"We're even."
Voight reassured the man as he focused his attention on the young girl.
"You alright Sadie?"
She nodded before speaking
"Yeah, I'm good Uncle Hank."
Charlie nodded before gently pushing her towards Voight.
She felt gentle hands on her shoulders and immediately relaxed.
Jay and Upton made their way over to the two men still laying on the ground.
Bringing them to their feet they pulled them towards their vehicle and shoved them in the back.A few moments later Sadie heard cars pull away, and that's when Voight finally removed the tape, gently peeling it from her face.
She blinked as her vision came back into focus. She looked up seeing Voight staring at her with a look of amusement.
"You know kid, I can't tell whether you're smart….or stupid."
