A little while later a soft knock on the door drew the girls attention, Kelly opened it and looked in at the two girls who sat on the bed chatting.

"Hey Sades, time to go."

"Ok"

She answered and turned back to Olivia

"You have my number, call me, text me anytime ok?"

"I will, thank you Sadie."

The two girls hugged before Sadie made her way towards the door before turning to Oivia again.

"I mean it, anytime Liv!"

"Would you get out!"

Olivia giggled, throwing a pillow towards Sadie.

Sadie followed her brother out to the car, climbing in the backseat behind Stella.

Driving back to the loft Kelly looked at Sadie through the mirror

"It's a good thing you're doing Sades...Olivia needs someone like you."

"Losing a parent is hard, she needed to know that she wasn't alone."

Kelly and Stella exchanged a smile, feeling like proud parents.

Arriving home Sadie retreated to her room, closing the door behind her.

She collapsed onto her bed, holding a pillow to her face as she let the tears she had been holding back finally flow.

She cried for her new friend and her loss, but also for the fact she knew how easily that could have been Kelly, Stella or anyone else from 51.

A lot of people see firefighting as something heroic, exciting, and it may have a certain glamor to it.

But behind it all is the fact that death and injuries do happen, they are real. They not only hurt the firefighter, but the loved ones and community that surround them as well.

It's a scary job, but they love it more than anything and they would lay their lives down for people they don't even know.
