i've lost my mind i've spent the night crying on the floor of my bathroom
I snap out of my thoughts and feel Jinx clasp onto my hand tightly. So tight it's almost like she's afraid I'll disappear if she lets go. "I want to show you something Y/N!!" she exclaimed excitedly. As a response I smile back politely and nod. "Where too my new tourist?" I say sarcastically getting a small chuckle out of Jinx. She ends up dragging me to what I presume is her room. I honestly don't remember how we got here since I was so mesmerized by Jinx. How can one be so pretty? I shake my thoughts off and look over to Jinx who is joyfully showing me around. While listening to her tour, I also take in the atmosphere calmly. You would be surprised how peaceful a sketchy place could be. Maybe this all was a really stupid idea. Running away, meeting Jinx, falling in love— FALLING IN LOVE?! Well that's new for sure. Since when was I in love with Jinx? Sure I think she's pretty, and funny, and crazy but that's like totally my type— TYPE?! Anyways ignoring that Jinx finishes her speech and looks at me curiously. "So what do you think Y/N? Do you think my place is cool?!" Jinx says in a tone that bridges between excitement and insanity. "It's quite magnificent Jinx. It's very cool." I say politely. My answer seemed to please her curiousity for now as her eyes light up. Soon enough I find her embracing me. "I can tell you're hurting Y/N... did someone hurt you? I will kill them!" she says out of the blue. I freeze up for a moment. Tears form at the corner of my eyes but I don't dare let them pour in front of Jinx. "Don't worry Jinx, just a little quarrel with my parents that's all," I state calmly to try and ease her "worries" about me. I know she's probably faking but that's fine. Her face somehow grows angry at my response and I ponder if I said the wrong thing. "Those dirtbags! One day I'll get revenge for hurting you Y/N!" Jinx stated sweetly like she didn't just say she'll hurt my parents. "You don't have to do that for me Jinx! It's fine I can handle all of it." After I said that Jinx's face softened and she pats my head. I felt myself heating up as I make eye contact with Jinx. "You're too sweet Y/N, this world doesn't deserve you," she states lovingly. For a second I almost believed her. For the first time it seems like I was genuinely confused. Why is Jinx being so sweet? Even if it's in her own twisted way, her words and actions make it seem like we've know eachother our whole life. Maybe we knew eachother in past lives or some other cheesy fiction. She soon goes back to showing me around some more and I ask questions here and there. Jinx looked so... happy? Excited? I couldn't describe it. She actually seemed interested in me being here. The concept of someone actually enjoying my presence seems foreign. I must have been giving off a confused look because she stops her monologue and makes direct eye contact. "You're upset. Why? Am I boring you...?" she asks with a sad tone that I cannot decipher as real or fake. I softly smile and respond, "Of course not, don't worry you could never bore me." That seemed to work for her as the sad look on her face is replaced with the crazed smile I have grown used to. I assumed that she was going to continue but she didn't. Instead she slowly walked closer to me until our faces were almost touching. My face began to heat up and nerves were growing in my stomach. "Did you know I would do anything for you Y/N? Kill, steal, fight, whatever you want I'll do it~" Jinx gently said like it was the most normal thing ever. I tried to find any sign that she was lying but I just couldn't. Did she actually care for me like that? Suddenly I feel a hand against my cheek. Unlike all the other times I've had hand to face contact, it was gentle. I must have been looking down without even realizing it because I find myself looking up to Jinx's eyes. They were filled with so much love I could hardly breath. She rubbed her thumb against my cheek as it grows hotter by the second. I'm lost for words as she's starts leaning closer, if that's even possible. She catches me glancing at her lips and grins eagerly. As our lips connect it felt nothing like the books describe it. Instead of fireworks, the butterflies in my stomach fluttered a little more and a warm comforting feeling took place in my chest. The kiss only lasted a couple seconds but to me it felt like ages. I finally started thinking coherently after a moment but my thoughts started acting up. We're we going too fast? Probably...
