Sierra
Sierra apparently wasn't fully awake yet, because she blindly lunged out and punched a boy in the face.
"Ow!" The boy exclaimed.
Sierra blinked. Her eyes finally adjusted to the bright cabin. "What...?" She murmured.
Blood welled around the boy's nose. Sierra noticed he was tall and had blonde hair.
"Sorry!" Sierra got out of her bunk and helped the guy up.
"I think you broke my nose!" The boy moaned.
Sierra rolled her eyes. "Don't be such a baby. Apollo is the god of healing broken noses, isn't he?"
The boy obviously noted her sarcasm. "Very funny, new girl." He glared.
"Sierra." She countered.
"Will. Will Solace." The boy introduced himself.
"Okay, Bloody-nose-Will, you wanna tell me what you were doing next to my bed?"
He narrowed his eyes. "You were having a nightmare. I was trying to wake you up."
"Oh." Sierra spoke in a small voice.
Will marched out of the cabin. Sierra followed him for the heck of it. She didn't need to change, because she had fallen asleep in her regular clothes. And who has time to brush their hair anyways? Sierra wondered.
The whole greek gods, Chiron the centaur, monsters, and all that didn't surprise her. One day, she had asked her mother why she had to study all of the greek myths. Sierra remembered her mother telling her, You need to learn them, Sierra. She said sternly. The Greeks were a powerful and wise culture that influences American culture even today. Now Sierra knew the real reason why her mother told her to study the myths.
She continued to follow Will. One girl ran up to him.
"Oh my god, Will, what happened to your nose?" The girl asked.
"New girl broke it, Nyssa." Will gestured to Sierra. Sierra shot him a smug look. "I was just headed to the infirmary to patch it up."
Nyssa hung back to talk to Sierra. "You've got guts." She smirked. "I'm Nyssa, daughter of Hephaestus." She offered her hand.
Sierra shook it. "Sierra, daughter of Apollo. Also, about Will's nose, it was kind of his fault. He startled me."
Nyssa laughed. "It's fine. I suppose my boyfriend does deserve a broken nose every once in a while."
She wasn't that surprised that Will and Nyssa were dating. They seemed close.
"I agree." Sierra said.
Will sighed. "I can hear you perfectly, you know?!"
"I know." Sierra caught up to him.
"You should show some more respect for me." Will glared at Sierra. "I'm the senior counseler, plus I've been here longer than you."
Sierra knew she was acting really gutsy by saying this, but her stubbornness and pride would never let her back down to this guy. "Am i supposed to care?"
Sierra knew that Will was about 1 snarky mark away from strangling her, but she really didn't care. She wouldn't let this guy boss her around, senior counseler or not.
"Just shut up." Will snapped.
"All you had to do was ask!" Sierra's taunt was a total lie. The only reason she would stop arguing was that she was she didn't want to be strangled on her first day of camp.
Will sighed in exasperation. "Come on."
