Sierra
After the campfire that night, Sierra practically dragged herself to her bed. She felt tired and weary. Not to mention haunted by the gory visions her dear father had shown her.
I suppose i did ask for it. Sierra thought bitterly. And now I'm left none the wiser because of it. I didn't even learn anything about Jaz.
Maybe there was a connection, and it was just too early to see it. I'll probably figure it out the hard way. The thoughts crossed her mind as she slipped into sleep.
When Sierra woke, she felt overjoyed to finally have a peaceful night without dreams. But it seemed eerie, not to have a vision, or even a dream. Just for a moment, Sierra felt something inside her scream SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
But then the feeling faded just as quickly as it came on.
Sierra sat up and rubbed her head. I think i need some therapy. I'm going crazy.
She forced herself to get out of bed. Will noticed her.
"Hey Sierra." He walked towards her.
"Hi." Sierra's voice came out as a rasp.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better." Sierra admitted.
"That's good." Will said.
"Is it time for breakfast?" She asked
"Yes." Will answered.
Sierra heaved herself up and out of bed. She followed Will and the other campers to the breakfast pavilion. She spotted Sumaya and walked casually towards her.
"Hi, Sumaya." Sierra waved to her friend.
"Oh, hey Sierra!" Sumaya ran up to her.
Sierra looked around, but didn't see Sumaya's twin. "Where's Jasmine?"
"She has a bit of a headache." Sumaya answered. "Nothing to worry about."
"That's too bad." Sierra said with fake sympathy. Why is it that the one night i don't have a vision, Jasmine supposedly has a headache? I don't think that's a coincidence...
"Yes." Sumaya didn't seem to notice Sierra's uneasiness. "Well, you should probably get to the Apollo table, and I'll get with my siblings."
A question popped in Sierra's mind. "By the way, i wanted to ask, how are the other Hecate campers treating you and jaz?"
Sumaya made a face. "Don't get me started on Lou Ellen, the senior counselor. Sure, she seemed nice enough to me, but once Jaz walked in, she was all, "ohmigosh what happened to your face?!" And even if she didn't mean to, she was so rude! I'm pretty sure Jasmine might've stabbed her if Adrian, another Hecate camper, and I had told everyone to call it a night and go to bed."
"Wow, so rude!" Sierra agreed, but she wasn't really paying much attention. "Well, i better get to breakfast!"
"Yeah, me too." Sumaya headed towards the Hecate table. "Bye!"
"Bye!"
After eating breakfast, Sierra went on with her usual routine at the camp. Then, just after lunch, the eerie feeling came back. Sierra tried to ignore it, but the feeling persisted. I need to find Annabeth.
Sierra found her returning from eating lunch. She ran up to Annabeth.
"Sierra?" Annabeth looked surprised. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost!"
"Annabeth, I feel that way. This morning, i didn't have any dreams at all. And while that may be a good thing, the feeling i had this morning screamed, SOMETHING BAD IS GONNA HAPPEN! The feeling went away, so I thought nothing of it. But now that same feeling is back, and i think the "no dreams" signified a calm-before-the-storm thing."
"That's..." Annabeth looked at a loss for words.
"Not all." Sierra finished. "Annabeth... I think the feeling came back as a warning. Something terrible has happened."
"We should tell Chiron." Annabeth looked scared.
Sierra nodded.
First dad's vision, then the eerie "no-dreams", now this feeling? What could have happened?
