Weeks had passed and neither did Karan aur Tejasswi initiate a conversation on their own. It had become awkward enough that they decided to only exchange words in the presence of someone. That's the least they could do for Syra. But the way sarcasm was thrown around, they didn't seem like civil parents ever.
Over the weeks Tejasswi was getting well accustomed to the household and was pretty content with everyone. Except for the cold shoulders of the Shergill siblings everything was smooth. With Syra it was even more beautiful. They clicked. They clicked so much that Syra let Tejasswi peer into everything in her life. But one thing Tejasswi didn't understand was her flickering mood swings and hormones. Then it struck her, adolescence was taking a toll on her.
It took her a whole week to convince Syra to let Tejasswi pick and drop her. She knew the teenage thing to look cool. It was time for her to go to school. And the worst part was none of them were home, except the three. Shreya was back to her apartment as it was closer to her workplace. Shagun and Sandeep went to an old acquaintance's place for an overnight stay.
The maids were supposed to come by 10 by when Shagun would return. It meant the three of them had to get ready on their own.
The alarm blared and Karan stirred before realizing it was only them. He scrambled out of his room to Syra's room after brushing his teeth. He saw the clock, Syra had a little more time to sleep. That left him waking up Tejasswi.
He stared at her sleeping figure as the memory of him waking her up crossed his mind. He inwardly groaned, his hand unconsciously wrapping around his thighs and elbow. She could have broken a limb or something.
He sighed as he went near her. Her sleeping face held so much peace and serenity. He would be lying if he said he ignored her. He would secretly take a glimpse of her. He noticed her wrung her fingers often nowadays, always showing off her long slender neck after tying her hair up, her double chin, and everything was so different from normal. He was almost tempted to look at her frequently.
Tejasswi was lulled into her sleep less than four hours ago. Her work load kept adding on ever since she got into the bad books of her boss. She needed the nap so badly. She crashed into her bed, scooping Syra, spooning her in her embrace like every other day.
"Mrs.Shergill," he shook her arm. He was getting used to a little skinship moments. They had to do it in the presence of Syra.
"5 minutes," she murmured as she flipped herself away from Syra. Karan noticed the black bags under her eyes. He still felt bad after changing the documents and warning Richa. Richa was too good at her job that he could not replace easily. She knew the work in and out. The school documents were changed and the teachers had apologized for their misconduct too.
