Broken Promises

Chapter 12: Relief

Kayleigh POV

Everything is black and my head is pounding and I feel like I am floating. I can't seem to open my eyes or move my body normally this would make me freak out, but I feel at ease oddly enough like I am floating.

I couldn't feel my wolf or hear her or anything for that matter for a while. But while laying in my darkness I started to hear mumbled voices I couldn't make out who it was.

Then I began to start feeling my body and the voices were becoming more clear, it was my Alpha talking to the doctor.

He keeps asking for updates on my condition and each time the doctor told her the same, nothing has changed my body is still healing.

Then I started to hear my friends, first Jessica and Justin came by to visit they would give me updates on what has been happening and all the gossip in the pack.

And then I heard Lilly she spoke softly I almost couldn't hear her until I felt her kiss my forehead whispering I love you.

My eyes flicker open and I try to sit up, but a sharp pain in my side stops me falling back against my pillow I look around the empty room.

A few moments later a nurse walks into the room she picks up a clipboard that is hanging on the wall and walks over towards me.

She starts checking the machines and writing things down in the clipboard finally she looks down and she notices that I am watching her. "Oh my god, Kayleigh you're awake."

The nurse calls for the doctor to come and within a few minutes the attending doctor arrives he starts to check me out first taking my blood pressure, then listening to my heart and asking me some questions the doctor was just finishing his checks on me when Alpha Alan comes in.

He looks rough like he hasn't slept in weeks and he looks like he lost some weight. "Thank the moon Goddess you are awake. How are you feeling?"

"Thirsty."

Alpha Alan chuckles, "yeah I bet you are you been unconscious for two weeks." I nearly spit the water out that the nurse had just gave me when I heard that I been unconscious for two weeks.

"What? Two weeks..?" I manage to say after swallowing the water.

"Yes your body was hurt badly by the wolfbane and the injuries. " I lay there watching Alpha talk to the doctor.

The doctor and nurse have a quick word with Alpha Alan before they leave leaving the two of us alone.

"You are healing quite well the doctor said and at this rate you should be able to leave in a few days they just want to monitor you a little longer."

Alan walks over towards my bed and sits down beside me. "How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?" I shake my head no, "I'm not in pain, just feel a little sore and my wolf she's been quiet I not felt her yet."

"That will be normal just give her time are you hungry or anything?" And right on que my stomach lets out a loud growl making Alan and I laugh. "Yeah, I could kill a burger right about now."

"Yeah let me check with the doctor to see if its okay to eat." Alan says as he pats my leg before standing up to leave.

Once he leaves my room I lay back down closing my eyes for a minute or so I thought was a minute I am next awaken by a beta boy pushing a trolley of food and teas and coffees. "Good morning, would you like a drink or something to eat?"

"Morning? Where is Alpha Alan?" The Beta boys just shrugs his shoulders, "not sure probably sleeping at the pack house. So um do you want anything from the trolley?"

I look to see what he has and I shake my head. "No thanks." I push the nurse call bottom at the side of the bed and wait for the nurse to come in. After five minutes a young chirpy nurse comes in with a blooming smile on her face. "Hi, what can I get you?"

"Can you get Alpha Alan please?" The nurse smiles and nods her head, "yes sure."

Alpha Alan walks into my room and I am sitting at my bed with a tray of food eating scrambled eggs with toast.

"Hey, you're awake again. I came back after I spoken with the doctor and you was fast asleep again."

"Sorry.." I mumble between bites. Alpha Alan holds up his hand shaking his head. "Its fine don't apologise, so you're eating thats a good sign."

I just nodd my head as I continue eating only stopping when finished.

After another two days the doctors said I was fit and well enough to go home but to take it easy especially when shifting.

Alpha Alan advised me to not shift for the next pack run which was scheduled for tomorrow. I was a little bummed about missing the pack run but I get it.

I had just come out of my bathroom from taking a shower when I got a strong wiff of Lillys scent. As I walk into my room I see the Omega sitting on my bed fiddling with her hands

"Hey." I say softly getting her attention. Lilly looks up at me and smiles. "Hey you." She replies her eyes darken as she looks me up and down.

I am wrapped in a large fluffy towel and my hair is dripping wet. I sit down next to her and for a moment we sit there in silence until we both say at the say time. "We need to talk."

We both laugh. "You first" I say to Lilly. I had wanted to discuss with Lilly what I had heard her say to me while I was in the hospital.

"Kayleigh..." Lilly turns to me grabbing my hand. "I want to thank you for saving me. I'm just sorry what happened to you." Lilly tries to keep her composure but she couldn't and she lets out a sob as she continues.

"I saw you hurt and I thought...I thought you had.." I cut off the sobbing Omega by crashing my lips to hers. She mumbles a cry before kissing me back.

The kiss started off tender and passionate, but quickly turned to need as Lilly deepens the kiss. Her hands find the back of my head holding me still as she dominates the kiss.

We pull away gasping for air our foreheads leaning on each other.

"I missed you so much Kay.."

"Shh, its okay I'm here now. " I lean back into Lilly kissing her passionately. Lilly's hands untie my towel and it falls to the floor.

The Omega's eyes darken with need as she stares at my naked body. I clinch my thighs together as my core aches with need.

Lilly licks her lips as she gets on the bottom of the bed and straddles the bottom of my legs hungry eyes ranking up the beauty of the Omega beneath her.

"Let me show you how much I missed you." Lilly purrs .
