Chapter 28: Dylan POV

(Taking place right after the BBQ)

Dylan didn't want to go to the stupid ceremony BBQ, but he had taken some time from Uni to come down and visit his pack.

It had been a few months since he last visited. He waited patiently for his father and some of the newly aged wolves to return. 

"Dylan? I thought you couldn't make it down here for the BBQ?" His father asks, confused why his son is in the house. 

"Aw, dad. Aren't you happy to see me? I know mom was." Dylan says with a big smile. 

"Of course I am, but I am confused on why  you wouldn't want to go to the ceremony to find your mate." Alpha Daniel says after he gave his son a quick hug. 

Dylan shrugs his shoulders. "I find it lame, going to a BBQ in search of your mate? Pff, lame! I want to actually search for my mate.

I want to have that surprise when you actually accidentally bump into each other. The thrill of it. You know, like how they did when you were finding your mate."

"Son, the problem with that is that it could take Alpha's years to find their mates or if at all and packs need their Alphas to have mates, especially if they are pack alpha.

I just wish you wouldn't be so stubborn." Daniel says, shaking his head and then walking away to go greet his mate.

Dylan meets up some of the others who had gone. "Hey, did any of you find your mates?"

Axel and Sage both said no, Sage not bothered by it, but Axel clearly was. The other two Alphas , Austin and Adam, found their mates both from the same pack, Starling Stone Pack.

Their mates are making their arrangements back home to move into the Blue Blood pack.

Angel an Omega, unfortunately, weren't lucky enough to find her mate, but she was still hopeful.

Later that evening, Dylan and some of the other Alpha's were relaxing in the lounge.

Dylan was telling them all about his time at Uni and how many Omega's he's been with and all about his summer fun.

The other Alpha's, Sage and Axel, couldn't wait to go to Uni if this is what it's going to be like.   

"So, how was the BBQ? Any hot Omega's there that you wanted despite not being mates?" Dylan asks with a sly grin.

Axel was the first to pipe up. "Sage here had the hots for this Omega...what was her name?

Rayleigh, Callie? I can't remember, but Sage here totally wanted to get into her panties." Axel says, grinning at the annoyed Alpha.

"Shut it mut, you're just jealous she wanted to dance with me and not you." Sage replies.

"I couldn't care less who she chose to dance with, I was there to find my mate, and I didn't." Axel huffs out more annoyed that he didn't find his mate than anything.

"You'll find her." Dylan says, patting the Alpha's leg.

"Dylan, a word in my office, please."  Alpha Daniel says through mind link.

Dylan excuses himself from the Alpha's and makes his way to his father's office.

He knocks once before he hears his father say enter. Dylan sees his father sitting behind his desk, his hands linked together on top of his desk.

"You wanted to see me? "Dylan states as he takes his seat on the small couch that is in his father office.

"Yes, as you know, you just completed two years of university and are halfway through your pack studies. I just wanted to check in with you and see how you are getting on."

Dylan bites the bottom of his lip and looks at his father before speaking. "Yeah, it's going fine, I am loving Uni." Dylan says with a smirk.

"Yes, I am aware at how much you love Uni and all the parties and Omegas you fuck." Alpha Daniel says emphasising the last word. 

"What? I am an unmated Alpha. Aren't I aloud to have a bit of fun before I have to settle down with my mate?"

"That is all an good, but Dylan, you are partying every night and fucking Omegas like they are going out of season and your studies, C's?

Dylan I do not pay to send you to Uni for you to get C's. You need to pull yourself together and start putting as much effort into your studies as you do fucking Omegas." 

Dylan went to say something, but was cut off by his father's hand. "Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, father."
