📍 cunningham house
8:14 AM"matilda! matilda!"
tillie opened her bedroom door, seeing her mother stood at the other side. "what?"
"you slept in. you missed breakfast," the older woman told her.
"i didn't sleep in. i'm all ready to go," the blonde replied, gesturing to her outfit and face. "and i purposefully chose to miss breakfast," she said, stepping out of her room. "i didn't really want to deal with a repeat of last night," she sassed, walking past her mother and down the stairs.
"do not give me that attitude, matilda!" samantha hollered, following her daughter downstairs.
"you ready to go, chris?" tillie asked, ignoring her mother. chrissy nodded and grabbed her bag, as did matilda and they hastily left the house.
they reached matilda's car and got in, as chrissy commented, "someone's in a sassy mood this morning."
"she really pissed me off last night," tillie answered, plugging her seatbelt in. "i honestly am trying my hardest, guess it's not hard enough for her."
"if you want, i can help you study. i can help get your grades up and you can stay in the higher classes," chrissy offered, as matilda began to pull out of the driveway and head into the direction of the school.
"thanks, but it's fine," tillie replied, with a small smile. "i'll pull through it. i always do. besides, i want to transfer classes, that way i won't have-"
"to be teased by the basketball team?" chrissy finished. "you know, i really have tried to talk to jason and get them to cut it out. he's just-"
"an ass?"
"i was going to say stubborn, but yeah he can be an ass sometimes too," chrissy said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
tillie began to laugh lightly, and eventually chrissy joined in. the two girls continued joking about jason, until chrissy brought up what happened last week.
"you know, you still haven't told me what happened at the basketball game the other night."
immediately, tillie fell silent. she cleared her throat, trying to sound convincing. "nothing happened."
"when are you going to realize that you can't lie?" chrissy queried in amusement.
"i'm not lying!"
"liar," chrissy stated in response.
matilda rolled her eyes playfully, before her expression turned serious. "myles just made this oh so hilarious comment about how he wants round two with me."
"round two? as in.. do that to you again?"
"yep," tillie nodded. "funny guy, right?"
"a true comedian," chrissy said, making tillie grin.
