Kriti's POV
College life was easy. Study hard and then work harder for Veer.
He was now the nominee for the head boy and was busy campaigning. When I asked if I could help All He asked me to keep scheduling his works. Nothing else.
Maintaining his schedule was not as easy as I had thought it would be. Accommodating his classes, extra-curricular activities, and endless appointments in a day was a nightmare.
"This man is a machine," Arjun remarked as he saw me re-do Veer's schedule one day
"I don't know how he does it," I exclaimed exasperatedly.
"Maybe he has a time-turner," Arjun added thoughtfully
"I don't think they let the muggles borrow magical stuff," I mused.
"Maybe he is a wizard. If he is, then he must be an expert in charms. Ever seen how those silly girls act around him?" Arjun laughed, and I laughed with him.
Throwing Harry Potter anecdotes did help lighten my mood.
"He hasn't complained once about your work," Arjun informed. I beamed. "Either you are too good, or he is too scared of you." I mock punched and laughed with him
"Why would someone complain about Kriti? She's as sweet as Vanilla ice cream" Shan said appearing out of no where
"Not that way But Veer is always busy finding faults with people, even us - his own friend circle" Arjun said shrugging
"Probably that's the disadvantage of being a perfectionist? " Kyra said sitting beside Shan and I was surprised that she defended someone she didn't know. That wasn't like Kyra at all.
A few minutes passed in all the chaotic muttering when I noticed a girl. She had an oval face, big round eyes, a sharp nose, and bubbly cheeks. By her looks, she seemed okay to me, but to every boy present, she was a Goddess. She wore a thigh-high dress, with a deep cut neckline. Her heels were so high that it seemed she was floating and not walking. Without sparing a glance at her surroundings, she went and placed both her hands on Veer's shoulders. My mouth hung open as she hugged him, and he hugged back.
"VK" She said "I'm done with mine, shall we leave? "
"Anaisha I wanted to talk to you about something" I heard him say
"Not here love" She said placing a hand on his lips. "My place"
She walked away blowing a kiss in his direction.
"Who's that girl? " Kyra asked
"She's Anaisha - Veer's best friend since childhood" I replied
"Well She was a model since her high-school and was pretty popular. She changed her boyfriends by weeks. She liked to show off her body because, as per her, if you have the goods, you should." Arjun said.
"She had a sister if I'm not wrong" Shan said.
"Yeah she was a lawyer, I've not heard anything about Anaisha's family, She never talks about it" Arjun said.
Veer walked upto us and sat down exhausted.
"This is so tiring" He said as I offered him my water bottle and then he leaned on to my shoulder.
"I'm sorry jaan.. I know I've been bothering you lately" He said
"It's okay Veer I understand that you're busy and you're trying to make time for all of your friends" I said
"Friends? Everyone is not as important as you are for me..." He said all of a sudden.
"Shan, Kyra, let's go, Veer you know what you've to do" Arjun said patting Veer's shoulder.
Kyra kept looking at me. I don't know why she's so concerned about me but there was nothing to worry about.
"I'll drop her home" Veer shouted as they walked a bit far away from us.
"Everyone is a friend Kriti, but you.. You are something special to me and I can't.. I won't do anything that will make me lose you" He said
His words and tone were very unlike him. I turned to face him to ensure I wasn't imagining. He stood up and stared in my eyes. His slightest touch felt so sincere and complete. I looked down at our intertwined fingers and pulled mine back. Without any response, We began walking into the parking lot.
"Kriti I..." he started saying something but he couldn't. I looked up, and he had those 'I am here for you' kind of expressions on his face.
"I know..." I muttered.
I was speechless at his gesture and words. He started packing up his things, and as he placed his bag on his shoulder, he spoke, "You have no idea what you mean to me Kriti Malhotra"
His last words were enough for me. I quickly hopped on the pillion seat, and he kick-started the bike. It roared passionately underneath me. "Hold on tight," he shouted due to the loud noise of the Bullet's thunder. And he zoomed us out of the college.
He stopped at my lane because he knew what would happen. And he definitely knew that no one would be okay with it. I was a girl who was being raised by a single mother and nobody would shut up if they saw me on a bike with a guy.
"Thank you Veer" I said
"Yeh toh mera farz hai " He said as I smiled.
Life doesn't stop if you stop living it. You may die within, but life around you continues to move on... Veer was giving me so much attention after the incident, I couldn't help but feel indebted to him.
"Did he drop you? " Arjun asked me at the gate I nodded.
"Do you think it's safe to be around him, I mean he never noticed you until the incident-" he started, but I stopped him.
"Arjun, I have seen world in lights that you cannot even fathom. I have survived days that you can never even dream about. I have already lived the worst. Veer cannot and will not do anything worse to me."
"A man in Veer's position can do much worse to you." he said when I noticed someone actually looking in our direction
The new neighbour Kiyan.
