Kyra'sPOV
"I hate you Shan " I said
"Kyra wait.. " I heard him calling out my name.
I didn't bother to even look back at him.
I hurriedly walked through the corridor wiping my tears away.
"Kyra listen na... " Shan shouted.
Honestly I didn't know the argument would end up this way and now the whole college knows that I have a crush on Veer Kapoor, my sister's rumoured boyfriend.
"What are you running away from? Coward " He muttered.
"Reality. I am running away from reality because I am scared to face it " I said.
"We were supposed to trust Kriti, Kyra. We should have talked to her about it " He said.
"Seriously, you're here to tell me that?" I asked.
"I.. "
"That's so stupid of me to think that you were here for me " I said.
"Kyra, Kriti is your family. And that's not the way you treat family " He said.
"Then how are we supposed to treat family? " I asked "I guess I should learn that from Kriti . "
He remained quiet for a while .
"Like you know, you can help some handsome officer find evidences against your friends and somehow conclude that your sister is a murderer . Am I right? " I said.
He just stared at me.
"What happened Mr. Shekhavat? Cat got your tongue?" I said.
"Kyra, you never know what Kriti is going through" He said.
He's still defending my sister and I don't like it.
"Do you know what I am going through? " I asked. "You don't know or maybe you didn't bother to ask me how I felt "
"The whole of St. Martin's started treating me like a murderer . My classmates started treating me like an alien. Nobody sat with me during recess" I added.
"And when the whole school is against you, there must at least be one person who's going to be on your side I first thought it was Veer Kapoor. Silly me but I knew Shantanu Shekhavat is going to stay by my side ALWAYS. But you proved me wrong Mr. Shekhavat " I said tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Kyra, I... " He was about to say something.
"You fucking ruined it Shan and I hate you for that " I said walking away.
He caught my hand but I freed it away from him and walked to the ladies washroom.
I slam the door hardly and sat on my knees and started sobbing uncontrollably.
And then I hear the sound of the speakers. There was an announcement
"Manav Randhawa, Veronica D Costa, Arjun Deshmukh, Shantanu Shekhavat, Kyra Malhotra, Veer Kapoor and Kriti Malhotra are asked to report at the Principal's office"
I wipe my tears off and splash some water on my face.
My eyes looked puffed up but I didn't care, I walked to the principals room and I noticed he wasn't there.
Instead in his chair was Officer Roy.
"Kyra" He said getting up "Are you okay? You look like..You have been crying haven't you? "
"Why do you care about me? " I asked
"I'm not curious I'm concerned" He said when the others reached the room except for Veer and Kriti.
"Have a seat all of you" He said
He kept tapping on the table and kept looking at the door.
"Where's Kriti? " He asked us
"You don't feel like starting in your assistant's absence? " I asked
He raised an eyebrow at me
"Do you even know why she's helping me Kyra? "
"Obviously to prove that I was the one who is responsible-"
"Wrong. She wants to prove that all of you are no way involved with Jai's murder especially you Kyra. She wants the murderer tag on you to vanish as soon as possible" He said
Two minutes later Veer walked in and sat down beside me.
"If you'll know your friend Meera attempted to kill her own self" He reminded. "First a murder then a suicide attempt, what's wrong with the college? "
"We had nothing to do with Jai's death " Manav said.
There was a knock on the door.
"Kriti come in" He said without even looking up.
"I'm sorry for getting late Kiyan" She said her tone obviously being soft
"Kriti you don't look fine, Are you sick? You can skip this interrogation if you're not willing to" He said
"I'm all good don't worry" She said walking in and sat down beside Veronica.
"I'll come straight to the point now" He said "We got the autopsy report it says he died because of an allergy"
"Oh yes he looked like he was choking to death" Kriti said "but then he just had water and nothing else "
"Then it could be something that he had in the afternoon" Kiyan suggested
"Well we were preparing for the upcoming tournaments and players have their own specific diets, someone follows a strict vegan diet while the other follows a keto diet " Veer said.
"Is there any instance where he specified having an allergy to soyabean?
" Oh yes he did, we were on a lunch with our coach at a hotel where we ordered something and he asked us repeatedly if the food contained soya by any chance and refused to even eat it" Veer said
"All of us thought he was just doing that he is doing that to irritate us because that's what he always does" Arjun said
"And Sir we are tired of telling you again and again that we have got nothing to do with Rohan's death " Veronica said .
Wow,Am I dreaming ? Veronica just said something sensible .
"I guess that's my job to find whether all of you are really not involved in this " Officer Roy said.
"Then what are we supposed to do ?" Veronica asked.
"I guess you can do an Instagram live session about how much Officer Roy has been bothering you " Officer Roy said.
I started laughing loudly and everyone stared at me.
What?Don't I have the right to freedom of expression ?
"Kiyan please.. " Kriti said.
"Okay okay I'll put this strictly professional" he said when Veronica sighed
Suddenly Officer Roy's phone began ringing.
He spoke something in a low tone and hung up.
"So shall we go to the hospital? Your friend Meera has gained conscious and she has a confession to make"
