Veer's POV
It was ten o'clock, and I was seated in a chair in Kriti's house in the living room. It was well maintained. A wooden diwan bed was kept opposite to the entrance door, while to its right was a three seater sofa, which had dark brown covers on it. Opposite to sofa were placed three plastic chairs with yellow cushions. I had occupied the chair nearest to the entrance door. In the center, there was a wooden table which had become quite old.
"Beta you both want something? " Mrs Malhotra asked
"No aunty, we're good" I answered
"So Veer beta, your dad is an actor right? " She asked
"Ji" I answered
"And do you plan on becoming one too? "
"I'm not so sure, I love sports and acting equally so I'm a bit confused" I said
"It's just a phase, you'll grow out of it" She replied.
"Hi Veer," Kyra exclaimed in excitement, "Chalo we are getting late, Arjun gaadi toh nikaalo"
"What about Shantanu? " Arjun asked
"He's not a kid, he can come on his own hum chalte hai na" She said
"Kyra, That's not fair" Mrs Malhotra said
"Mumma yaar you don't know anything" She said stomping her foot.
"Veer chalo na please" She said
"Yeah but where's Kriti? " I asked when she looked at me surprised.
"She can come on her own too, Shan will pick her up, let's go I don't want to get late" She insisted.
"Maa, Kiyan and I... " Kriti walked in and paused when she looked at me and I stood up.
"Hi" I said awkwardly knowing that I can't hug her right now.
"Veer! " She said smiling.
"They've been waiting for you Kriti" Mrs Malhotra said when she ran upstairs bringing her bag and put on her jacket
"I'm ready" She said panting.
"Have fun kids, drive safe" Mrs Malhotra said.
I kept dribbling the ball as we walked out until the lane's exit.
"When are you not with your basketball? " Kriti asked clearly irritated.
"When it's on Arjun's head" I said as I threw it on him as he was about to open the car.
"How the hell are you'll best friends? " She asked
"Believe me I've been asking myself the same question since years" I replied shrugging.
Kyra got into the car huffing in annoyance but smiled when I moved in to sit beside her. Kriti sat to my right while Shantanu who was ten minutes late sat in the front seat.
