"Finish your dinner."
A young girl, 13 years old, with short brown hair sat at a large dining table, picking at a dry steak on a plastic plate. She sighed deeply, looking up from the meal,
"I don't want to do this anymore, Mom. We're hurting them."
"It's all for the greater good darling. We're going to find the cure, we're going to help everybody. Remember what I taught you?"
"Wicked is good." She muttered, cutting off a piece of the meat and hesitantly placing it in her mouth. Chewing it slowly before gulping it down.
"That's right dear."
"But why do me and Theo have to do it? Don't you have adults who can do it?"
"You two are the smartest ones here, you know that darling."
"What about Thomas and Teresa? Or Rachel, and Aris. You have all of them, you don't need us anymore."
"They're different. They're smart, but they're nowhere near as talented as you two. We can't do this without you."
"I don't want to keep training with Janson. He's an ass. I miss Jorge"
"Clarissa, watch your language, you know why you can't train with Jorge anymore. And Janson is just trying to make sure you learn properly, it's for your own safety. What if one of the subjects decides to try and hurt you? We can't have that, now can we?"
"No." The girl mumbled, continuing to eat small pieces of the meal in front of her. After a few seconds, she placed her fork down, pushing her chair out. "Can I be excused? I have work to finish."
"Alright." The woman at the head of the table nodded at her. The girl walked away, making sure nobody was following her before jogging through the long corridors of the compound. She came to a large metal door and lifted her hand, rapping her knuckles against it three times. Another girl answered, with brown hair cut short and sparkling brown eyes, a wide smile on her face.
"Raz!" The girl whispered, pulling the other girl into a quick hug before tugging her inside the room, closing the door behind them.
"Hey, Brenda! Miss me today?"

My eyes shot open, scanning the room around me as I tried to sit up, but my body felt like a pile of bricks that were too heavy to move. A pounding headache made its way to the front of my skull as if someone had reached inside my head and was squeezing my brain. I shut my eyes closed again, trying not to get overwhelmed by all the memories flooding my system.
I remembered everything. My childhood, my parents, my friends, Wicked.
I remembered him.
