"Where is he?" Hoseok groans in annoyance.
Namjoon is supposed to pick him up. He let him use his car since his is broken down right now and he said he'd pick him up after work.
He should've known Namjoon's work would take a lot longer than his.
Hoseok tries calling him again, but it keeps going to voicemail.
"Man whore..." he rolls his eyes.
Yoongi is rubbing off on him.
Hoseok keeps his eyes trained on the screen of his phone so he doesn't focus on the people around him.
He's not in the mood to feel inferior to everyone else right now.
He hears a car horn honk and when he looks up, he sighs in relief when he sees his car parked in front of him.
He jogs over and opens the passenger door, climbing in and buckling his seat belt and finally relaxing.
"Took you forever," Hoseok grumbles.
"Oopsie," the person in the driver seat says.
That wasn't Namjoon's voice.
Hoseok slowly looks over to see who is beside him. But he knows who it is before he looks.
She's staring at him with a large grin plastered on her face and she's soaked in dried blood.
His eyes widen and he immediately goes to unbuckle his seatbelt but she smacks his hand away and locks the doors.
"Safety first," she says before pulling out of the parking spot.
Hoseok tries to unlock the door, but she immediately locks it again.
His heart is racing and a million questions are running through his mind.
How is she alive?
Whose blood is that?
Why does she look so... different?
Besides the terrifying new color of her eyes... there's something else different.
"Um... L-Lucy..." Hoseok stutters as she drives dangerously fast, weaving between cars as she speeds down the highway.
"Don't ask me questions, little birdie," she points her finger at him, keeping her eyes on the road. "Or I'll drive this car off the side of this bridge and leave you to drown."
He opens his mouth to speak, but he closes it again.
Wait, she can't kill him. Not without messing up Hell. She cares about that damn place too much.
She's just messing with him, like she used to.
"Are you okay now? What happened with the poison? Why are your eyes red now? Did the poison do that? Why are you-"
"The clock struck five," she suddenly starts to sing before veering quickly to the right as she presses the gas pedal to the floor.
"Shit! Lucy, no!" Hoseok screams, trying to open the door again, but she locks it back and suddenly jams a pocket knife into his hand when he reaches for the button to lower the window. The knife pierces through his hand and into the side of the door, effectively locking his hand in place just out of reach of the window controls.
He groans in pain and tries to get the knife out, but she grips his other hand in her own, nearly crushing it as she holds onto it with all of her strength as the car continues going towards the side.
Cars are honking and slamming on their brakes to avoid them, but her eyes have locked on his.
She's grinning and humming to herself. "Hope you can swim."
The car breaks through the guard rail on the side and plummets down towards the river.
Hoseok screams as he desperately tries to free himself from the knife and her grip on his hand.
There's a terrifying feeling of sudden doom pressing on his chest as he watches the water coming closer and closer as the car plummets toward it.
In a deafening crash, the front of the car collides with the water, the car immediately beginning to sink into the river.
The water is filling the car quickly, through the cracked windshield and any other opening it can find.
Lucy's eyes stay locked on Hoseok as he tries to move his legs to kick her away, but she uses her free hand to smack his legs away easily. She seems like she's not even putting any effort into holding him down.
"I really needed a bath anyways," she sighs before closing her eyes as the water takes their last little pocket of air left.
They're completely under the water now, and he's trying to focus on staying calm and getting himself out of here.
Hoseok glances over to Lucy and she's staring at him. Blood is floating in the water surrounding them as it washes off of her. Her hair is flowing freely around her face as she stares at him intently.
She winks at him and suddenly, she disappears and he's alone in the car.
Immediately, he grabs the knife and pulls it from his hand as more blood mixes with the water that is threatening to enter his lungs.
He unlocks the door and tries to open it, but it's completely jammed.
Hoseok's lungs are beginning to burn and he knows if he doesn't get out of here soon, he'll involuntarily take a breath and inhale the water.
She really left him here to die.
In a last ditch effort, he swims up and kicks the windshield, hoping it will buckle and give him an opening to escape.
He kicks it a couple of times, but it's not budging.
No. He won't die down here.
He's the Prince of Envy, for fuck's sake. This is not how he's going to die.
He kicks the windshield as hard as he can through the resistance of the water and he finally feels it shift under his boots.
He kicks it over and over again, ignoring the sharp burn in his chest as the windshield finally flies outwards and he pulls himself out of the car, desperately kicking and swimming towards the surface.
Lucy just tried to kill him.
Hoseok's head breaks the surface, and he takes a large, ragged breath as oxygen fills his lungs.
But... he can't help but feel like he deserves what she just did.
They did leave her to die first.
