Rakshit's POV
Only if I had known, that I would get a completely new version of my wife, after her drinking wine, trust me, I would have encouraged her every day to sip that.
New versions every day?
No way. This one is the best.
The only thing about my wife that I understood now was, that she was drunk.
I mean, can you imagine? Just imagine?
Stop exaggerating.
It is the point to be exaggerated!!
The girl that stays tight-lipped 24x7, is blabbering nonstop?
No, I can't.
Get lost.
"And you know Mr. Shergill we had so much fun. Though it was just me and Divya, we enjoyed it to no extent. Divya is the best. I love her so much. God knows what I would have done if she would have not been with me. You know, a day before our marriage, we both had tiptoed out of our house in the night and spent the entire night on the beachside. Divya told me we must relish it, as who knows when we will have the time to meet each other again and spend time. I miss her a lot. But you know, we are still in contact. She sent me a letter this morning. I hope I'll receive another one soon. And.." That's why you were looking tired on our marriage day
"Okay Drishti." I noticed her looking at me as I voiced her and she went totally noiseless.
"A..are you getting annoyed because of my talks." She questioned peeking at me blinking her eyes thrice.
"Noo. Not at all. I mean.." Girl! Let me speak.
"If you are then I'll stop. I'm sorry. I thought... I mean you asked me to be free.. eh..friends.. so..sorry." She stated looking here and there and sat silently fidgeting with her fingers.
"Drishti. I didn't mean that. Don't take me in the wrong way. I meant to say, we will reach within a few minutes, and then you can continue ."
She looked at me and nodded passing a smile to me.
We reached the palace within a few minutes and without waiting for me, she hopped down the carriage and knocked the door on my side.
"What's this Drishti?" Though my tone was slightly stony, she was just busy beaming at me.
"See, while we were there, you gave me your hand to climb down, now when we are here, I'll give my hand to yours." She expressed smiling cutely.
I smiled at her and put my hand on hers while she laughed out loud and jumped on her place in excitement.
I giggled looking at her. I've never seen her laughing like this.
It's just been 2 days since you have met her.
Never in these two days, I've seen her like this.
It shook its head and walked away while I examined Drishti who had held my hand so delicately like it was a snowflake.
I tightened my grasp on her hand while she giggled looking at me and we walked inside.
It's so heartening to see her like that. I smiled looking at her and she left my hand with a jerk dashing inside our room.
Shaking my head at her, I ran behind her and saw her moving in circles with her dress fluttering in the air.
She looked as ethereal as a princess. I leaned on the door crossing my arms across my chest.
How cheerful she looked. I want her to remain like this forever. She looks more lovely when she is laughing and smiling. I want her to bring out the child hidden inside her.
I mean, why behave maturely when you are not even 20?
I believe in living a life like a kid. C'mon, you can become mature at any phase of life, but you cannot become a child or enjoy like a child when you are 60.
Perhaps a happy childhood is one of the best gifts from life.
I strode towards her as she stood still smiling widely at me.
As the distance between us reduced the wideness of her smile fell too.
I stood in front of her while she was looking at me all innocently.
I passed her a smile and placed my hand on her shoulders.
"You miss Divya?" She looked at me with wide eyes and nodded her head pressing her lips in a thin line.
"Ok." I stated with a wide grin on my face but she looked at me all bewildered.
And something stroke me.
With a smirk on my face, I began moving in her direction and she initiated moving back.
Let's see if nervous Drishti is the same in the drunk state as she is in the sober state or not.
While moving back she raised her eyebrows at me twice.
Ok, she is not.
I smiled at her and stopped in front of her as her back hit the wall.
"Will you eat me too??" She asked with her mouth slightly open and face drown in the sea of confusion.
I took a step back and watched her in horror as I remembered the mom's incident.
"Dris...Drishti....wh..eh..what do you mean by 'eat me too'? Can you please explain?" I controlled myself to not freak out.
I mean we had a chat on this topic. She explained that she was just kidding.!
"You will eat me too? Like your d..dad had eaten your mom? I did tell you this morning. I..i w.w..was so..scared. Please don't. I request you. I mean..i.. i..have I done something wrong?" And by the time she stopped, her eyes were saturated with tears.
And I was the one observing her as if she was an alien.
Am I dreaming?
"Drishti. Don't cry. You have not done anything wrong. Okay? Relax. But we had a talk on this matter, right? You said you were just kidding?" I tested reminding her.
How's it possible that she recollects what happened in the morning but does not remembers what happened in the evening?
"When? And what kidding? What are you saying, Mr. Shergill? I'm not able to understand a bit." She said getting tensed.
"You don't remember? In the evening I had come to you, you were sitting on the chair and doing something and I asked you about the morning incident and you said you were joking!!" I was losing my sanity now.
"O! I w..wasn't talking to you. I was r..r..replying to Divya. She had written a letter to me and I was writing back to her. I have the habit of speaking while writing so.." She said diverting her looks between me and the floor.
She's really kidding me.
Does this mean she does not know anything from that side of the world?
