Just Pretend

Chapter 9

There was of course no response. She found herself going through the everyday motions but her happy self was gone. She missed Noah more than she could explain and she was angry. A month went by and she tried her best to shake her heart break. She kept herself busy at work and for the most part kept her mind occupied. That is until new pictures of the band surfaced on the internet. 

"Noah cut his hair all off. It's short as hell now."

Arwen announced as she came into her office. Lennox pulled out her phone and opened Instagram. Sure enough there he was with his new hair. She was sad that he cut it but she has to admit it looked good on him. She looked at the picture for a little longer than she intended.

"Their new album comes out in a couple weeks too. Also they are playing in Orlando a month from tomorrow. Maybe we should go. "

Lennox set her phone down and shrugged. 

"He doesn't want me, Winnie. He made that clear. Going to see them won't change that."

Arwen nodded.

"I still believe he will come to his senses. Him seeing you will make that happen. Plus I know Jolly and the others will want to see you too. Ill buy the tickets."

Bad Omens new album came out but Lennox couldn't bring herself to listen to it. She wasnt able to listen to them at all. Hearing his voice just tire her heart out of her chest.

The day before the show Lennox decided to text Noah. She didn't know why. She just felt the need to. 

"Hey Noah. I just wanted you to know that Arwen , Parker and I will be at the show tomorrow. I hope to be able to talk to you. I know you don't want me anymore and I guess I can accept that but I'd still like to see you. "

There was so much she wanted to say but a text would do it no justice. They left for the concert the next day and Lennox did her best to not cry. 

"Do we want the front row?"

Parker asked as they entered the venue. They both looked at Lennox who just nodded. They stopped at the bar and each got a drink before they shoved through the crowd to The front. They stood in the middle and waited. 

"Can I back out now? I don't think I can do this."

She told Arwen as she began to panic. The lights went out and the band began to walk onto the stage.

"Too late best friend."

Her eyes landed on Noah as he walked across the stage. He looked a little different due to the hair cut but he was still the man she was in love with. Her heart ached as the music began . A few songs went by before Jolly spotted them. He beamed from ear to ear and waved. Noah noticed and followed his gaze. The second he laid eyes on Lennox he froze. Nicholas began to sing the next verse because Noah couldn't think. 

Lennox tried to keep the tears at bay but a few slipped down her face as he started singing again. 

About half way through the show Noah walked over to talk to Jolly. Then to Nick and finally Nicholas. They all seemed to get ready for something that wasn't planned.

"So as you all know our new album dropped two weeks ago. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the support . This album is very personal to all of us but especially to me. One song in particular that means the most to me is 'Just pretend'. It was the last song we wrote for the album and was written about someone amazing. Someone I love with all of my heart but I broke her heart and hurt her. I wish I could go back and change it but I can't take her pain away. "
