"Dear people of the world. . . I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow five children to visit my factory this year. In addition, one of these children
shall receive a special prize beyond anything you could ever imagine.""Five golden tickets have been hidden under the ordinary wrapping paper of five ordinary Wonka bars. These five candy bars may be anywhere...in any
shop, in any street, in any town, in any country in the world." The news reporter on the TV read."Wouldn't it be something, Charlie, to open a bar of candy and find a golden ticket inside?" Grandpa Joe said, staring at the screen.
I was still laying in bed but I was awake, even though everyone else thought I was asleep. I just couldn't be arsed to get out of bed.
"I know, but I only get one bar a year for my birthday." Charlie said.
"Well, it's your birthday next week." Mum reminded him.
I checked the time and saw that it was 10:20am, so I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, dealt with my hygiene, got dressed into my work uniform which was indigo jeans, a black t-shirt and a cap that both had the logo on, and curled my hair and did a half-up half-down style.
I work at Love Food and I've been working there for 2 years now.
"Bye guys, I'm going to work." I said, putting my cap on my head and walking out of the door.
The walk was only 10 minutes and once I got there, I already saw customers queueing up outside.
"Hello everyone. Welcome to Love Food, come on in and be ready to order." I said, unlocking the front door and walking in.
"Hiya, what would you like?" I asked the customer.
"How much is the vending machine?" The child asked me.
"Well, darlin', it says the price of it where you insert the money but for your information, it's a dollar." I told him.
"Okay, thank you, miss." He said, walking over to the machine.
Afterwards, an elderly woman walked up to the counter and said, "Hello, please can I have a Cappuccino and a cinnamon roll."
"Sure, that'll be $6, luv." I said and she slid the money to me and then she sat down at a table.
More people began turning up so I began making the food and drinks, whilst they took people's orders.
Little did Cadie know, her life was about to change in the blink of an eye...
The time was now 7pm and I'd just finished work so I locked up and walked home.
"Evening, everyone." I said and everyone welcomed me.
I got changed into pyjamas and walked back to the living room with my family.
"She's even worse than the fat boy." Grandpa George said, referring to Veruca Salt, the second person to find a golden ticket.
"I didn't think that was really fair. She didn't find the ticket herself." Charlie said.
"Don't worry, Charlie. That man spoils his daughter, and no good ever comes of spoiling a child like that." Grandpa Joe reassured him.
"Charlie, your mum and I thought maybe you'd want to open your birthday present tonight." Dad said, entering the house with mum, and passing the wrapped up gift to Charlie.
Charlie took it and began ripping the wrapping paper off of it.
"A Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight. I think I'd better wait until tomorrow." Charlie said, looking down at the chocolate bar.
