Dakota was on my case the instant I walked back into the apartment. She pulled me back into the bedroom and closes the door this time.
“he proposed?” I nod and look down at the ring that was still on the ground. “my brother fucking proposed without telling me?!”
“thanks for the support Codes,” I joke a little.
“aw, everything will be alright.”
“but your brother won't. Sorry, but I'm going to have to break his heart.”
“I know.”
“I need to tell you something that can't leave this room.” she looks at me confused but allows me to continue, “I think I'm 'the other woman'.”
she chuckles, “with who? Jon?”
“With Adam.” her face drops, “He-we-we just kissed. And then he told me that he loves me.”
“oh honey...” she pulls me into a hug.
“and he thinks I said yes to Jon.”
“okay, here's what you're going to do. You're going to forget about Jon for the moment and you're going to go out there and have fun with your friends and family, got it?”
I smile and nod, “is there a reason why you didn't tell me to forget about Adam?”
“someone always told me never to forget the ones you love.”
With that we both walked into the living room with smiles on our faces. Katelyn was on the phone and turned to face us, nodding her head while saying 'yeah'. She was frowning.
“yeah, I can call Ms. Richards and explain things to her.” she speaks into the phone, looking directly at me. “I'll talk to you later mom.” with that she hung up.
“explain what to me?” I ask, taking a couple steps toward her.
“who wants to crash a wedding?” she ignores my question.
“Katelyn, explain what to me?” my voice got a little louder.
She sighs and sets her phone down on the table, “Stephanie moved the wedding up, it's in two weeks. My mom wants to make sure you can make the cake by then.”
I swallow, “um, yeah. I can do that.” all I can think of is why would she move up the wedding? “okay, who's ready for a round of twister?!” I ask excitedly. Katie jumped up and down and Finn pulled out the game.
“who wants to spin?” he asks.
Katelyn jumps up at the offer, “I do.” she says and grabs the spinner from him.
We spent the rest of the evening playing games and watching movies.
Later that evening, I decided to log on and see if Adam was on too. Which he was.
