Adam and Tristan left this morning. Tomorrow's the wedding and because of the interruption last night, I only had about twenty-four hours to finish this cake. Katelyn took Katie so that I could focus on the cake without any distractions. Nick was making the frosting while Finn and Dakota worked on the fillings.

My phone suddenly started ringing and I groan, picking it up. “somebody better be dead.” I say.

“Juliana?” I hear Adam ask on the other line. Shit! What the hell is he calling for.

“what is it Adam?” I ask, frustrated with him calling me.

“the flower girl has a fever and Stephanie is freaking out.”

“good for her.”

“can Katie please be in the wedding.”

“no.”

“but-”

“the answer is no Adam, our daughter is not going to be in your wedding. Got it?”

“Please, Jules, I'll seriously do anything. You don't get when I say freaking out, I mean she's tossing vases and crap around the house.”

“good. For. Her.”

“damn it Julie! Just let her be in the wedding.”

“give me one reason why I should let Katie be in your wedding.”

he thinks for a moment, “because she's going to be staying with me for the rest of the summer anyways and you said that you left right after the wedding you're doing tomorrow. So doesn't it make sense that she'd be with me, at my wedding, anyways?”

I curse under my breath, and then look next to me at Nick, Finn, and Dakota. “fine. She'll be there with Finn in the morning.” I say, “one mention of her being your daughter though, and you wish you were never born.”

“great! Thank you so, so, so much Jules! I promise nothing will slip.” I hang up on him and go back to my cake. The rest were just staring at me.

“what just happened?” Dakota asks.

“Katie's going to be in the wedding tomorrow.” I answer simply, “is the filling finished?”

they all get back to work, hearing it in my voice that I didn't want to talk about it.

I got the cake finished that night at around eleven. All I had to do yesterday was deliver it and put it together.

Everyone was already asleep, getting their rest for the big day tomorrow. It was weird being the only person in the group not invited to the wedding.

I logged onto the chat, not expecting Adam to be on this late but he was.

Lost in Love: what are you doing on?

Rainy Day Girl: I could ask you the same thing. Aren't you getting married tomorrow.

Lost in Love: yeah. But I need your advice on something...

Rainy Day Girl: this should be entertaining.

Lost in Love: I called Juliana and asked if our daughter could be in the wedding as the flower girl, since our previous flower-girl got sick.

Rainy Day Girl: I doubt any ex would be pleased with that question.

Lost in Love: yeah, she wasn't too happy about it but finally agreed. Now though, I feel really bad.
