"Y/n-san, could you pass me the wrench, please?" Suzue's request brought you out of examining the holographic programs she had open.

You had known Suzue since your university days as you both had attended MIT, meeting her in one of the many hallways the school had when the black-haired girl approached you for directions to the library. You remembered what you were doing at the time, quite vividly in fact; keeping watch while your mischievous classmates set up a prank for one of the professors. You two bumped into each other a lot after that and grew close, especially after she often ignored her own duties to help you with your theses or whatever you had trouble with.

Of course, being friends with the younger Kambe sibling meant meeting the older one too, a millionaire asshole with incredibly good looks named Daisuke.

Your opinion of him was complicated. You found him intolerable due to Suzue going to the extent of skipping an exam to make something he commissioned but on the other hand, he had the admirable ability to not falter under pressure.

Handing the mechanic her wrench, you earned a smile and a 'thank you' in a voice that reminded you of gently swaying bells, just like the ones she was named after.

As though he was born to ruin moments like these, Daisuke Kambe walked in with his usual striking beauty and stern expression. 'Man... he seriously needs to watch an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' you thought as he passed by with a teasing smirk and faced Suzue, who had finished whatever she was doing minutes ago.

"Daisuke-sama! What brings you here?" She asked.

"Nothing," came the gruff reply, "I was bored, that's all."

"Ran out of things to do with money, I bet." You muttered, turning your attention to Suzue's impressive collection of keyboards.

"Don't tell me you're jealous, L/n." Daisuke turned to you, with the smirk still on. "I can't imagine how boring your life must be."

"It's better than yours, I'm sure."

Before things could go from civil to downhill, Suzue interrupted, "I just realised. The reason I called you over, Y/n, was because I wanted to try some new teas with you." Brushing past him slightly, Suzue and I went to the living room where we spent the rest of the day.

****

Hours flew past like leaves on a windy day and somehow 4:20 turned to 8:24 and way past my ideal bedtime that only exists in dreams. Thanks to the teas and their varying amounts of caffeine, Suzue's and my sleep schedules were messed up and we awkwardly sat on the sofa, giggling like 12-year-olds on a sugar rush.

"I think I see stars in your eyes, Suzue," I said, probably having the most stupid, widest grin. Suzue laughed a little.

Oh god.

Does she know of the effect she has on some people?

The clicking sound of high-quality dress shoes was heard and I whipped my head to the source; Daisuke Kambe without his usual blazer and waistcoat. His dress shirt had its buttons undone, only the first couple but it still showed his razor-sharp collarbones.

Just the thought of the buttons fully undone made my hands quiver.

I may have just fallen in love.

Is this the caffeine speaking?

"Y/n, are you okay?... Your nose is bleeding..." Suzue slurred, switching between a state of euphoria and alertness at rapid speeds.

...

Is this what bi panic feels like?
