The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is the BEST anime i've ever seen and the only comedy anime i've laughed at. it's really easy to binge-watch because of its fast-paced jokes and i highly recommend it to anyone who like the Slice of Life genre like i do.
the ending turned out more angsty than i thought but i still liked it and i hope you do too

"Soo, how's your day going, Kusuo?"
"I thought I told you to call me Saiki when we're not around my family." Your favourite psychic said using telepathy, the stone-like expression on his face obvious even though you were behind him. "And to answer your question, I don't have feelings. I threw the little emotions I had down an endless abyss deep in my dark soul."
"That... was very insightful. You seem to be spending a lot of time with Kaido." You joked.
Your pink-haired friend turned back and glared at you. Thankfully he had his green glasses on.
"I'm not your friend, Y/n."
"Wha- I thought you said you wouldn't read my mind-"
"I can't help it." Saiki quickened his pace, his bag still hoisted on his shoulder, leaving you to start jogging behind to reach him.
"So it's Halloween today-" you started.
"I don't care."
"And I wanted to ding-dong-ditch some people at my neighbourhood-"
"Tell this to someone who cares."
"And you like sweet things so-" You waited for him to cut you off but he didn't. He'd also stopped in his tracks. "Saiki?"
"I'm in." He said, turning back to you.
"Wow you're easy to convince-"
"Just tell me what you planned before I snap you, Thanos-style."
You held your hands up defensively as Saiki continued to stare you down with his amethyst eyes. "Yeah so, I was thinking of going out tonight... for trick or treating...?" The last part came out like a question rather than a statement.
"Trick or treating? We're in high school."
"Yeah but, TRICK OR TREATING IS FUN-"
"How so?"
"Uhh, candy?"
Saiki stayed silent before sighing. "The most I'll do is ring your doorbell." He muttered, walking away again.
"WE'RE STARTING 7PM TONIGHT AT MY PLACE, BRING SOMETHING TO CARRY OUR SWEETS IN!!" You yelled, hoping he heard.
****
The sound of your doorbell brought you dashing down the stairs and opening the front door in a flash.
"Saiki!! Is this the friend you were talking about?" A small, turquoise-haired boy exclaimed excitedly, tugging at your friend's hand. He was dressed as a wizard, complete with a gold-painted brooch and a pointed black hat.
"Yep, that's them." Saiki looked at you, head to toe. "What are you dressed as?"
You answered his question, smiling.
"You look more like a trashcan."
"Consider taking me out then." You winked playfully. "Besides, look at yourself! Seriously, what on earth are you even dressed as?"
"Nothing. I'm not putting my dignity at stake tonight." You looked at him with the most disappointed face you could muster. "I'd fight you on that but I have a principle against battling children."
"Saiki, you sound like an emo right now..."
"Whatever, let's just go. I skipped lunch so that I'll have room for all that candy."
"You are so dedicated." You quickly slipped on your footwear and closed the door behind you before starting the walk with Saiki and the little wizard boy, who you learned was Yuuta, Saiki's neighbour.
Saiki subtly started walking to your right, leaving Yuuta, who was holding your hand, walk on your left. His hands were in his pockets, that was nothing new, but the way the street lights hit him woke something in you.
****
Your last ding-dong-ditch victim was Teruhashi, someone both you and Saiki didn't have the best opinion of. The psychic, in particular, wasn't a big fan of her, for reasons untold. You rang her doorbell and ran away as soon as you heard footsteps behind the intricately designed door. From behind a nearby wall, you, Yuuta and Saiki witnessed the moment Teruhashi opened the door with a big grin on her face, the expression fell harder than Kusuo did for you when she realised it was a prank.
****
Your Halloween ended at 8:15, after you dropped Yuuta at his house and insisted you walk Saiki home too, even though it was the house next door. You wanted to spend a little more time with him, even if it was only a couple minutes.
"I had a lot of fun today, Saiki."
"I did too." Came the emotionless reply. "You have chocolate on your face, by the way."
"I- Why didn't you tell me earlier!?" You aggressively rubbed your face on the sleeve of your costume.
"It looked kinda endearing in a way."
You were quiet at that and quiet as you bid him goodbye.
"Good night, Y/n. Be sure to come to class tomorrow." He said, doing something which looked like waving before closing the door.
Saiki stood leaning on the door a while until his mother called his name.
"Did you have a good Halloween with your friend today, Kusuo?"
Friend.
He frowned at the thought of you being nothing more than just a friend to him.
He knew he liked you more than that, he just didn't know how to say it. What if you got together only to break up after a while? Being on awkward terms with you would be terrible. Not telling you would be even worse.
"When are you going to tell them?" His mother asked, understanding his situation as if she was a psychic herself.
"Soon... very soon."
