A young, excited little girl scurries through the halls of the Jedi temple on Coruscant. The child is a very young Daliss N'dal, no more than 11 years old, off to meet her master who's been training her for just a few months at this point. She runs into a dojo where her master is waiting for her. The dojo walls are adorned with weapons ready for training, but also artifacts only on display: Ancient weapons and armor used by the Jedi of old.
"Master, master!" Daliss says excitedly, approaching Todak, who is still taller than her at this point. "Master, I'm ready for my first lightsaber lesson!"Daliss recklessly ignites her saber, and takes a fighting stance with it. She just got her lightsaber the evening before, and she is eager to learn how to use it.
"Wow - wow - wow there, little one." Todak says, waving his four hands. "Put that away. We're using wooden ones right now.""Awwww!" Daliss whines. "I want to use my lightsaber!"
"Daliss N'dal." Todak says sternly, pointing at her with one hand. "You put that lightsaber away."
Daliss gulps just like she does and always has, and puts her lightsaber back on her belt.
"Good. Now, to help you out on your first lesson, I'd like to introduce you to someone knew."Daliss giggles and gets even more excited, and then notices someone is behind her. She turns around and sees a very tall, muscular, green skinned falleen woman.
"Daliss, this is Weiyun." Todak says. "She was my padawan before you were. She's a Jedi knight now.""Ciao!" Daliss says happily, bowing. "It is a pleasure to meet you, amica! I'm Daliss N'dal!"
"It is a pleasure to meet you too, Daliss." Weiyun says, her voice is deep and smooth. "I'm here to help you learn."
"I can't wait! I'm so excited!" Then Daliss turns around to face Todak, almost in a hop. "Master! What will the lesson be?"
"A fun saber technique," Todak says. "But a dangerous one too. It will teach you discipline and self control."
"Mia!" Daliss practically bounced with excitement. "What is it!"
Then, Weiyun threw a wooden training sword at a practice dummy across the room. The sword spun around, struck the dummy in the chest and then flew back to Weiyun's hand, leaving little Daliss awe-struck. She immediately tries it herself, misses the target, and then hits herself in the head with the wooden sword when drawing it back. Daliss falls to the floor, whining. Weiyun gets down on one knee and finds that she is alright, except for a little bump on her head.
"Don't you worry, my padawan." Todak says with a chuckle once he knows she's okay. "Its a difficult technique to learn, but I know you'll get the hang of it.""Yes, don't worry Daliss." Weiyun says as she helps Daliss stand. "I accidentally struck myself a few times before I was at least able to catch the wooden sword. But my master trained me very well and I know he'll train you well too."
Several years later, Daliss finds herself on Glee Anselm, running through a beachside jungle. A storm is brewing far out in the distance and thick grey clouds have already blotted out the midday sun from where the padawan is. Master Todak has set up a sort of training course in the jungle, wherein Daliss must move through obstacles while defending herself from training droids using her lightsaber, and cutting little flags with her lightsaber. And she cannot cause any harm to the environment. No cutting down trees or burning plants with the lightsaber by accident. It is very difficult, but it teaches Daliss how to control her lightsaber with great care and dexterity.
Daliss leaps through the air, through a Y shaped gap between branches, slashes the last flag and lands on her feet in front of Todak who was waiting there at the end of the course.
"Fatta!" Daliss says with a cocky attitude. "I cut all of the flags!""You nearly beat my too." Weiyun says, popping up behind Daliss and startling her. Daliss has grown a lot buy Weiyun still towers over the padawan. "Master Todak, how'd she do?"
Let's see..." Todak says, focusing on the area using the force to sense rather any of the greenery was harmed. When he's finished he has a look of amazement. "Princess! I'm impressed!"
"Infatti?!" Daliss says, seemingly just as surprised as her master. "Did I win?!"
"No!" He says cheerfully with a big smile on his face which confuses his apprentices. "But you only damaged some leaves - that's a big improvement from last year when you cut down three trees fighting one droid."
"Well done, Princess." Weiyun says, patting Daliss on her head. "Now, how about we head back to town. It's going to stormy real soon."
It is now 22bby, and Daliss is in the plains of Lothal, meditating on a hill enjoying the sun set under the horizon. Sitting next to her is Todak. At this point, the Jedi master is so proud of his padawan. Daliss has shaped up to be a prodigy Jedi in his eyes, and he thinks that she'll be knighted in just a few more years. Sitting quietly with his padawan is relaxing, like spending a serene moment with his daughter.
The window blows gently through the tall crass, and the two Jedi are far away the sounds of civilization, but very soon, such peace and quiet would be replaced with the noises of war. Explosive sounds of blaster fire in the sky and the ground of Dofom. Daliss charges the frontlines for the battle of Ayro, immediately picking apart her autonomous battle droid enemies. She fights beside her master in a flurry of incredibly fast lightsaber slashes, while captain Wac and his troops cover their flanks with unyielding blaster fire. The battle is very intense, because the trenches are the last position wherein the republic can maintain steady movement through Ayro. If the separatists win, it will be a pivotal step in their campaign. As the republic starts breaking up the line of the separatists to split their forces apart, Daliss separated from her master. But she soon found herself facing the imposing B2-DT1. It fires at Daliss with its arm cannon and shield up, and she attempts the lightsaber throw while avoiding its blasts. The droid blocks her lightsaber though, with relative ease, and she draws it back and closes the distance. She immediately noticed however that the lightsaber disrupted the energy shield, so with enough aggression, the padawan supposes that she could deactivate it and then destroy the shield arm. She slashes its shield a couple of times, disrupting it again, but had to jump out of the way as it fired at her with the arm cannon. Once Daliss made more distance, the B2-DT1 fires its mortar shot at her. Daliss is just able to jump out of the way, but she was immediately attracted by the droid, lunging at Daliss through the smoke of the mortar blast and bashes the padawan with its shield. It's a solid hit and Daliss is knocked several yards away. "Momma mia..." Daliss says, incredibly frustrated. She gets back up, and starts running circles around the B2-DT1 and until she closes the distance again. She carefully dodges the shield bashes and arm cannon blasts, and finds a perfect opening to cut off one of its legs. The droid falls and Daliss front flips over it, cuts the mortar cannon off, lands on her feet and stabs the B2-DT1 in the back and through the face, destroying the droid. The B2-DT1s are indeed a force to be reckoned with. Just one of these droids can push Daliss back over 30 feet. Todak doesn't have much trouble killing them however. He figured out even faster than Daliss how lightsabers disrupt the energy shield, and with his four lightsabers and carefully timed jump attacks, Todak could make quick work of the mighty B2-DT1. They are however a tremendous threat to the clones. Blaster fire hardly effects the energy shield, and so they can push the troopers with concerning ease. If the the separatists had perhaps only a few hundred more B2-DT1s, the republic would definitely lose this fight. If they had better fortifications than a trench, they could defend against them better, but as things stand a republic victory now depends entirely on the reinforcements coming...
Daliss keeps fighting on the front lines as best as she can, and finishes off her third B2-DT1. After kicking it into the mud, Daliss turns around and instinctively defends herself against a lightsaber strike... Daliss leaps backwards, and to her horror, that dark sider from Ayro city is the attacker, wielding a red lightsaber. But that's not all. Even though she's masked, Daliss knows who the frightening woman is. She can sense it.
"Weiyun...?"
