On July 16, it was a very special day. It was none other than your boyfriend Luke's birthday! You wanted to make this day perfect for him because he was always so good to you. Repaying him was your top priority.
You quietly snuck yourself out of the bedroom you two share and down to the kitchen to make him his favorite breakfast.
In the process, you flipped the pancake diligently; careful to not have it crumble under the spat chula. Your heart sped up once you hear loud footsteps coming your way. Quickly finishing up the last few things, you slapped the pancakes on a plate along with some freshly brewed coffee.
Once you spun around, you pretended to be bombarded by his presence, "Oh, Luke. I wasn't expecting you...perfect timing." You smirked to yourself while grabbing the plate and mug. Placing them both down on the eat-in bar he began to sit down, "Happy birthday, babe." You sweetly kissed his cheek.
You waiting for a huge commemoration on the work you put in, but all you got was a small, toothless smile. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, "What's wrong?" You placed a hand on his back and began to run in circles. He quickly swiveled to face you, "Nothing, thank you, baby. These look delicious." He spoke and wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you closer.
You gave him a weird look, "Seriously, something's wrong. Tell me." You poked him in the shoulder. "Laurian, I'm fine. Really." He tried to convince you. You decided to let it go and walk around the island to stand across from him. A few minutes of him picking at the pancakes later, he finally spoke up.
"Michael hasn't texted me 'happy birthday' yet." (muke af)
You playfully rolled your eyes at him and smiled, "Is that why you're bumming? Your boyfriend hasn't texted you yet? He's most likely still sleeping, darling." You laughed. He looked up at you and flashed that smile you've been waiting for. "Leave me alone, it's my birthday." He sassed.
After sharing a short lived laugh he got up from his seat and took you in his arms, "Thank you so much for the breakfast. I love you so much, Laurian."
