Elder! Age is just a number

Chapter 3

Edward looked back where Oliver was asleep. He closed the door and came out. "I have been noticing you insulting me and my father. You must be so full of yourself to think that I'll reject my mate"  Dane whispered, yelled at him as he didn't want to disturb Oliver. 

"Well, why don't you ask your father instead of fuming here on your own. Ask him what kind of things your family did to Oliver. Then, get mad at me." Michael fumed while Sebastian just stood there with hands in his pant pockets. Edward pushed Michael aside and went to his father's office, but met with a not so familiar back. "John?" He called the person out and looked at the woman who was sitting beside him. "It's been so long, Edward. You are all grown up now." John said as he eyed Edward. He just hummed in response. "And have already found a mate." The woman beside John sneered. Edward looked at the lady with brown long hair, her eyes were utterly sinister. And the smile at her red painted lips make Edward groan in discomfort. 

"Yes, and he is the prettiest one too." He still smiled at this Auntie of his. "And a barren one too." She added with a scoff and John just chuckled. Adam cleared his throat. "I'll get the house in the neighborhood cleaned for you. You may stay there." He said. "I'll be staying in pack house." She stated and Adam glared at his brother. "I'll tell Steve (Ralf's father) to put your luggage in the house I got for you." He said and Vanessa glared at him. "But we want the kids to be habitual of pack life." He stated. "Well, getting used to pack life does nothing to you. You still did what was a taboo of any pack." He said sarcastically and dismissed both John and Vanessa. "Dad! I want to talk." Edward said and Adam motioned for him to sit. "Why does Michael want me to reject Oliver?" His question makes Adam uneasy. "It's not like this. Just- Just promise me that you'll never hurt him. He is an Elder of the pack. If you do something that goes against the pack laws. You'll be banished despite being the alpha. If anyone rejects or disrespect the Elder of pack, even if it's their mate. They'll be banished unless the Elder accepts them back." Edward who was listening to it suddenly thinks of something. "Am I a second chance for Oliver?" He asked to which Adam clenched his fist. "Y-yes." He looked at Edward "Don't ask me anything else. Just treat Oliver with respect and love. I don't want him to get hurt again." After the warning, Edward left the office while Adam thought back to the incident that happened 14years ago. He closed his eyes and let the memories haunt him. 

Edward was going to his room when he was pulled inside the room. "Aahhheeemmm…so!" Both Ralf and Stefani gave him looks."What?" Edward tried to feign ignorance. "When are you introducing the Elder to us?" They asked and Edward smiled. "Well let me get closer to him first." He scratched his jaw. "Well I am going to see him." He told them as he made his way to the guest room.

Oliver woke up in an unfamiliar room. He got up and the past events rewind in front of his eyes. He looked at his hands. He covered his face with his hands and sigh. "What will happen to me now? Will I be able to survive this new found humiliation? Obviously, I'll be rejected."  He cried into his hands when he heard a knock. "Umm Oli~ I mean Elder! Can I come in?" He asked as he peeked inside the room. "Yes please." He said as he sat up properly. "Are you ok now?" Edward asks. "Hmmm." He answered half-heartedly. Oliver looked at the child in front of him. "I guess there is some- something wrong." He said with his eyes lowered. "We..we are not a good..pair." he stuttered. Edward was on the other hand noticing his gestures. "I can't give you the things you..you deserve." Edward notices the tear that fell on the back of Oliver's hand. "I am old too." At this, Edward just smiled. "El~ Oliver! First of all, there is no misunderstanding. This is fate that we are mated. Secondly, If you think that I am the person who will give up on my mate just because of his own stupid reasons, then you are absolutely wrong. And as for age, then Elder! Age is just a number. " He finished and gave a mischievous grin to Oliver. "I~" Oliver stopped saying whatever he was about to say and looked at the person in front of him. "You… are you attracted to men?" His silly question makes Edward smile. "I know after witnessing the scene from the cafe, you'll be worried. But E~ Oliver, remember that. You are my only mate. I already love you so much that my heart hurts." He says and holds Oliver's hands. "You just have to stay with me." He ruffled Oliver's hair making Oliver glare at him. "I am older than you. Show some respect." He said angrily but a ghost of a smile can be seen on his lips. "Yes sir!" Edward winked and squeezed his hands. "Have you talked to Alpha?" Edward nods at Oliver's question. "You are my mate. He can't object even if he wants to. But good news, he approves of us. Just threaten me to behave well around you." Edward gave a wolfish grin. Oliver just nodded at him.

"Why do you want to live in the pack house Vanessa?" John shouted as he was tired of explaining that he only had her in his heart. But Vanessa always accused him of cheating. 

"Well then live there and prove it to me. Live there and show others that you aren't affected by that damned thing known as your first mate." She threw the pillow as she completed the sentence. 

"Don't tell me. You just wanted me to make that omega feel low?" John laughed it off but Vanessa looked at him dead in the eyes . "We will stay in packhouse." 

The person listening to their conversation smirked and left their door. "Alpha! I am telling you. If your son hurt Oliver. Then remember, dead people can't be banished." Michael says and Adam gives him a sad smile.

"So you're telling us that Oliver was Alpha John's first and real fated pair? Then he rejected him and married that bi~ i mean witch." Stefani almost shrieked at her discovery. 

"Mhmmmm" Ralf nods his head vigorously. "But this doesn't mean that Beta family can treat Alpha family with disrespect." Ralf asked no one in particular. "What if Michael loved Elder." She exclaimed dramatically. "Say it in front of Harley." Ralf said to which she just grinned idiotically. 

"When will you be turning 18. I wanna see your mate too" Stefani sulked and Ralf rolled his eyes.

Oliver looked at the clock as he buttoned his shirt. He was still in the packhouse but thanks to Sebastian who had fetched his clothes from his house. 

He was about to leave when he heard a knock on the door. "Yes!" He signalled the person outside. "Oliver! Should I drop you off at the daycare?" Edward asked. "I'll be fine. Thank you." Oliver said and left tye room with a bowed head. "I'll reject him today." Was the last thought of Oliver as he made his way to daycare.
