Surprise Visit

''The show is about to start. Head over to the theater area for participation. Thank you.'' The intercom rang through the park, getting the attention of everyone that visited today.

I couldn't get any normal job after three island incidents. Because all the jobs felt boring and I felt lazy doing the boring jobs. So, I settled for working at the San Francisco Zoo and Safari Park, where animals lurk around every corner.

Lifting myself from the railing, I walked down the trail towards the theater area. It was a huge domed area, with seats surrounding every nook and cranny. In front of the seats was a huge stage, with satin red curtains and dark hardwood floors. Hanging below the stage were some stage lights that poured up towards the middle, there were also some more lights up near the stands which were moveable.

It was almost impossible to believe that they had something this nice in a zoo and Safari Park. There was a tarp over where the people sat, and another that hung over the stage, only for if it started to rain while the show was going on. Outside the theater area was miles of land, that held giraffes, rhino's, lemurs and lots more.

As usual, I made my way towards the back of the stage, opening up a door to reach the area behind the curtains. There were staff walking, pacing and running around the room trying to get everything perfect for the show that was bound to start anytime now. I walked in and up to a mirror to see myself in khaki pants, a white blouse along with a green cargo jacket and black combat books.

It was only the ideal outfit for someone who acted like they lived in the safari everyday. Sighing, I straightened out my jacket, but stopped mid-way when I felt a sudden weight on my shoulder.

''Hey Alan.'' I spoke.

Alan? No, not the human Alan. The Alan here at the Zoo and Safari Park was a Sifaka Lemur, brown and white, fuzzy, with big yellow eyes and a long tail that had curled around the back of my neck. I named him Alan because at first glance, he does look a little bit like Alan Grant.

''Miss. Stone, we're ready.'' A lady spoke from behind me, she held a clip board and held an ear piece in her hand. Similar to the one that was set in her ear.

''Thank you.'' I nodded, taking the ear piece out of her hand and placing it into my left ear. Alan rested on my shoulder with his tail curling around the back of my neck, he's been with me through every show, no matter what happened.

I took my spot behind the curtain, taking deep breaths before the intercom came on again.

''Welcome to the San Francisco Zoo and Safari Park, and we hope you enjoy the show.''

Suddenly, applause could be heard from the other side.

I closed my eyes, taking another deep breath or two before the curtains had opened and the sunlight seeped through the huge gap. Opening my eyes, I put a smile on my face and walked out into the stage, the cheering had grew louder. Even Alan was clapping, he did this everytime and I loved it.

''Hello, everyone. I am Y/n Stone, Animal Behaviorist here at the San Francisco Zoo and Safari Park. This show is to show our animals, up close and personal to you folks. Now I only have one question, are you ready?'' I asked, raising a brow at the crowd.

The crowd had been a wide range of people, from adults to teens, to kids to toddlers then to babies. I got a mixed yell of 'yeah' from the crowd, most were excited to see the show seeing as it's something new everyday. As my eyes scanned the crowd, I found some people that I've met that came at least once a month for the show, others were new.
