Dinosaur Whisperer ⤵
''Mr. Masrani, I highly suggest we get you somewhere else.''
''Claire, these are my creatures. It is my fault—''
''ACU can take care of it, they're trained professionals.''
''Maybe so, but I own the park.''
That was always the finishing argument. Masrani owns the park, and there's nothing that anyone can do about it. He demands to be around for a lot of things to do with his creatures. The births, they're released into their habitat, even when one is rampaging through Main Street.
Claire's heels clicked relentlessly against eh concrete, down the stairs leading to the street. From just outside the Innovation Center, a crowd of people could be spotted down the street. Masrani stormed that way with myself in tow, Claire giving out frustrated grunts before following along.
There are some perks with having Masrani as a boss. He seems likely enough to give you a vacation for long periods of time, or longer than you need on sick days because he cares just too much. But he's also one who knows what he wants and knows he can get it. He's got the money and the respect, all he has to do is ask. And he does so politely.
I don't see why Claire seems like it's the worse job she's had. Surely, she's had worse. I couldn't place there she would've worked before getting assigned a job here, but I bet it was less thrilling than this. Maybe that was the issue. The thrill. Maybe Claire disposed the thrill because that's where Masrani tended to float around.
Carefully, Masrani placed a hand on a few shoulders, politely asking for some people to step aside. They did so without question, probably seeing the urgency. The tourists stumbled backwards, hiding themselves away in the nearest store or behind the nearest support beam.
''Well,'' Masrani nodded to himself, making a mental note as he watched the ACU officers handle the dinosaur. He gave a heavy sigh, joined with a groan and dropping his head low. His chin touched his chest, shoes scuffing against the road below. ''Please! Handle her with care.'' He then warned towards the officers.
They didn't listen, barely batted an eye to the man who paid them. Instead, they focused more on the dinosaur.
A Pachycephalosaurus had gotten out of its habitat, now behaving wildly around the massive amount of flesh bodies. It's beady eyes trained on many things, darting around to look at all the ACU officers at once. They herded her into a small circle made with their person and shields. I doubt they could hold back the attack of a headbutt from one of those things.
From where I stood beside a lady still holding her hotdog, dripping with ketchup and other condiments I didn't rather guess, I could see that she was stressed. The dinosaur, not the hotdog lady. Stressed, worried, and panicked. Her pupils contracted, breathing ragged and her figure lashed around, tail sweeping at the officers feet.
Of course, she threw her head around, too. Her first defence was the thick skull she had, using as a warning to the officers. This wasn't good. If she was to attack them, then people would freak out and run. They would leave, not come back, file some sort of complaint, the place would get shut down and Masrani would be depressed.
And if Masrani was depressed, then he'd probably break into my house again.
Internally thanking Masrani for making the decor realistic, and not plastic and fake, I grabbed a nearby leaf from a planter. I stopped short before reaching the crowd again. I thought back to Bubbly, who only liked berries instead of the leaves. Maybe the Pachycephalosaur was the same. Thinking back on it, I dropped the lead before I headed to the muffin shop.
