INCIDENT——
I was 12 years old at the time and I just started puberty a few months ago. I was in the 7th grade and I wasn't familiar with the concept as much or what was happening to my body. I thought it meant I was getting taller and bigger boobs. But in actuality it wasn't just that 😑. My mom never taught me how to care for myself as a women or broke it down to me on the importance of showering in this stage because she was gone most time. The last time I saw her it was probably 3-4 weeks ago before the lights, water and electricity went off. I was on my period that day before and still had on the same pad. Since I remember yesterday I was bleeding, I kept it on and quickly rush on the school bus without showering 💀 (water was off). Outside everything was normal as usual. Shakira was with me and I still remember hugging myself with the huge puffy coat I was wearing cause it was cold. So it was nothing unusual. When the bus came I went on and heard chatter and laughter on the bus. Some duck there face in there coats while others were talking amgonst themselves and I didn't know what they were talking about.

After arriving to school, the kids quickly ran as fast as they could out the bus to the cafeteria or their next class. Shakira was waiting for me outside of the bus with her face dumbfounded. I went out the bus and passed her. Me and her don't have the best sister-sister relationship. We fight and argue a lot so it's not unusual for her to look at me weird or tease me about the way my nose look or something. When I passed her to head to my class she quickly caught up to me and said, "Girl, you stink BAD!" Then she ran off shaking her head violently. That didn't phase me at all. She bullies me a lot about myself at home or to her friends so I carried on like she didn't say anything. And boy was I wrong.
