"Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?" Richard asked as Meredith started to wake up
"Tired" The little girl weakly muttered
Richard stroked his hand over Meredith's head softly
"I know, sweetheart. Why don't we play a little game?" He suggested and took out a small version of Meredith's favourite board game
"No" Meredith breathed and closed her eyes, she immediately fell asleep so Richard tucked her in and hoped she'd feel better the next time she woke up
He sat down next to the small girl and kept stroking her head. Meredith's hair had drastically started to thin out due to all these meds and she was tiny, too tiny
"We need you to get better, sweetie," Richard whispered and kissed her forehead. He knew what he had to do. He stood up and decided to go fiend the chief, he needed a leave of absence

Ellis was waiting around the corner and quickly walked into her daughter's room when she saw Richard leaving. She checked Meredith's blood pressure, the girl's heart rate and many more. She was debating on giving Meredith just one more pill. Just one more pill so her daughter would get the care she deserved
'No I'm not sick, I'm just getting my daughter help' She thought but as she opened her purse, Carolyn walked inside
"Good morning" She smiled "Has Meredith been awake?" She asks
"No.." Ellis sighs and lies
"Oh, if she's awake I have a proposition for her, to get her up" Carolyn smiled at Ellis who was starting to get slightly jealous
"What's it?" Ellis asked suspicious
"Maybe she wants to spend some time with other kids, it's my husband's idea" Carolyn smiled
"I don't know if it's good for my sick little girl to play with other sick kids" Ellis snapped
"I didn't exactly mean kids from this ward" Carolyn muttered but checked the little girl and quickly braided Meredith's hair. She brushed her hand over Meredith's hair and tucked her in before leaving the room again to continue her rounds
Ellis stood up again to push that pill into Meredith's throat but was disturbed again when Richard walked inside
"Hi. How's our girl doing?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around Ellis but she pushed them away and ran out of the room. He frowned but decided to drop it for now, he understood she was under a lot of stress
He decided to read Meredith's chart once again just to make sure no doctor had come in to tell them anything he didn't know yet
"Come on, sweetie. I wanna see you smiling again soon. You need to get better" He brushed his hand over Meredith's head and felt her squirming a little "Hi sweetie, it's okay. I'm here" Richard smiled
"Hi" Meredith weakly smiled, her eyes still closed
"How are you feeling, honey" Richard rubbed her arm softly
"Very tired" She yawned "And thirsty"
"Well let's change that" Richard smiled and handed her the cup of water with a straw. He helped her sit up slightly so she could sip the water "You're doing a great job, sweetie." Richard smiled
"Where's mommy?" She quietly asked
"She's resting, sweetie" Richard said, not knowing what was really going on
"My tummy and my back hurts" Meredith quietly whimpers
"Shh, it's okay, honey" Richard slowly started rubbing her stomach "Does this help a bit?"
"Yes" Meredith breathed and closed her eyes again, her hand on Richard's
When he stopped rubbing she tried to move his hand to continue so he quickled a bit and kept rubbing her stomach. 'As long as it helps' he thought
Richard still hadn't seen Ellis again so he had gotten himself ready to spend the night in Meredith's room. He prepared the couch with several pillows and a blanket but he didn't have the courage to leave Meredith alone in the bed so he rested his head on the mattress and started to drive off, waking up every once in a while to check on her or when doctors or nurses walked inside to check on Meredith
He had no idea where Ellis was but at least she'd be able to sleep on the couch if she would decide to spend the night at the hospital, in Meredith's room
Sorry guys for not updating, I just kinda lost motivation and courage. I'm in the middle of finals and my life is just a bit of a mess right now :p I hope you enjoyed, it's a bit of a shorter chapter but I just couldn't write more.. sorry
