"Tumne mere bhai ko meri aankho ke saamne maara! Uska istamal karke usse doodh me aayi makhi ki tarha phek diya...Jante the na tum...dimagi halat theek nahi the uski", A man in his 40s growled pointing his gun on Haseena's belly, who was tied on a chair. Her face bruised, having marks of endless dried tears.
"Jhoot. Beemari ka jhoota natak tha tere bhai ka jo shayad tujhe bhi nahi pata tha. Sab khuch jail se bachne ke liye. Aur tum jaise aatankwaadi kis cheez ki duhaayi maangte ho? Tere us bhai ke haath nahi kaapte the? Chote bacho ko maarte hue? Aurton ko apna khilona banate hue?...Marna hi tha usse...". Anubhav shouteded back. His heart was sinking looking at his pregnant wife. He just wished, both of them were safe. He couldn't think of loosing any one now, after spending almost 35 years of his life without a family, parent less, as a orphan.
The man sniggered.
"Sahi kaha. Is nek kaam ke liye hum kisi ki duhaai na mangte hai na sunte hai", he slipped his finger on the trigger and pressed it leading to blood ooze out of her womb. She groaned in pain, waking up from dozes of drugs. Before Anubhav could kill the man, he shot himself too, leaving him in a lifetime full of grief, remorse and loneliness, of losing his only love ones in front of his eyes.
He woke up from his worst nightmare, sweating prfousely. His heart beats went abnormally high, in fear.
A breath of relief washed over his face, feeling the weight of her hand around his waistline. But that could not calm his vulnerable state. He switched on the lights immediately, calling her out. "Haseena...", he whispered, softly touching her face and caressing her forehead.
"Umm..Anu", Haseena mumbled. She turned hiding her face from the light, under the duvet. Feeling his gaze and attention, still on her, she peeped out of the blanket. The worried lines on his temple, indicated to her, something was wrong with him.
She took his hands support and sat up straight. He closed his eyes and hugged her tight.
"Bahout bura sapna dekha humne...aapko...". He touched her womb and shut his eyes more tightly, causing a lone tear to fall from his cheek.
She folded her legs and embossomed him, placing a soft kiss on his temple. He slide his hand inside her tee, resting on her belly."Zaroor aapne apne kisi Mission ki purani file kholi hogi...jo aapko sapne me aisa khuch dikha". She tried to divert his mind."Baby ko acha lagega? Uske baba ek sapne se dar gaye?"
"Haseena...". He scowled. "Humare baby se zyada aapme bachpana hai"
"Haww...pehle toh humesha kehte the humme aapka bachpana dekhna hai pregnancy me...ab jab sach me handle karna pad raha hai toh shikayat kar rahe hai?", she chided him. "Jen sahi kehti hai, pati ke dhol badalne me samay nahi lagta!"
"Sabse pehle aap na dusro ke relationships ki problem ko yaha mat laya kijye. Pehle woh constable ki baat se aapne apne bhole pati pe kitna ghatiya ilzam lagaya aur ab Neil aur humme compare kar rahi hai? Hum aapko kisi bhi stithi me akela nahi chodenge". He said hurtful. The nightmare had caused him to freak out. And here her mood swings made it worse.
"Humne aapko pehle bhi kaha tha...hum sirf apni insecurity share kar rahe the aapse. Phir bhi aapko bura laga, I am sorry." Her eyes teared up, thinking she hurted him yet again due to her mood swings.
He exhaled. She was not at fault in this, he felt guilty of not understanding her enough in this phase, where he needs to be very patient with her.
"Sorry jaana"
She looked away and wiped her eyes then faced him again. "Thoda paani pilijye. Better lagega". She passed him the bottle kept on the bedside drawer.
"So jaiye ab", Anubhav switched off the lights and peppered kisses on the top of her head, gazing her until she enacted to sleep. Laying back, he stared at the ceiling, recalling one of the mission happenings. His trance was broken when she intentionally put her arm around him.
He held on to her hand and slipped to slumber, couple of minutes later."Hum kya kare? Humme toh neend hi nahi aa rahi ab", Haseena thought, unable to sleep. "Anu bhi na...", she huffed. "TV pe khuch dekh kar time pass karte hai...bhookh bhi lagi hai". She mumbled to herself, removing his hands around her, getting away from her husband's grip.
She cooked some pop corn for herself, then rummaged on the net for suggestion of some movies. "Horror dekha toh hume bhi Anu jaise sapne ayenge...Romantic Comedy aaj kal dhoka deti hai...umm..." After thinking a lot she gave up on the idea of movie and started to binge old episodes of her favorite series.
( TMKOC old episodes. ENDGAME. Rest every thing is Moh - Maya )
Two hours later he woke up. Finding the space beside him, empty he panicked a little, until he could hear a little of her laughters.
"Humara bacha aapko bahout pareshaan karta hai lagta hai", he whispered in her ears, startling her. "Haan. Ekdum aap pe gaya hai...humari neend ka dushman"
He blushed. "Blush mat kijye...tareef nahi ki hai. Embarrassed hona chahiye apni harkato pe", she said, continuing to eat her popcorn. His smile soon turned to a frown."Ek minute pehle aap ye bataiye ki aap kitne packet khali kar chuki pop corn ke?"
"Sirf ek"
"Kitchen me check karke aaye hum?". He asked again trying to check on her lie.
"Teesra packet hai ye". She replied nervously. He walked in front of her and stood with folded hands. "Kal hum aapki report ke baad date pe jane wale the na woh cancel hai"
"Nahiii..." She said dramatically, like a typical daily soap character. "TV band karde hum aapka?"
"Nahi na", Haseena whined. She got up from the sofa and circled her arms lovingly behind his neck. "Healthy kahenge. Chaliye na, please🥺"
"Ghar me toh aap khati nahi. Bahar khayengk", he taunted her. "Jo aap kahenge wahi khayenge. Ab toh le chaliye lunch date pe. Humara bahout man hai". Her finger tips circled around the button of his T-shirt."So jaaiye phir phataphat se". He said pressing the off button. She frowned. He kissed her pout. "Paani leke aana. Khadus khaike".

Next day,
In Doctor's Cabin."Haseena maine sirf aapko ek cheez pe dhyan dene ko bola tha...apne BP fluctuation ko control kariye. It's not good. Delivery time me bahout problem hogi", Siddhi, her gynecologist said worriedly...She is a doctor to the IB team and is on known terms with both of them.
"Jab gussa naak pe leke kaam karengi toh yahi hoga na Siddhi...humari baat sunti hi kaha hai."
"Hum aapki baat nahi sunte. Siddhi pure din gabbar ki tarha manmaani chalate hai humpe...duty pe bhi ghar pe bhi"
"Rehene dijye. Rehne dijye. Kitna bhi mana kare...aapko khana sirf teekha ya masaledaar hi hai. Ghar pe banayenge woh bhi nahi. Bahar ke thelo ka chatkaara.". Anubhav scolded.
"Aap dono ladna rehne dijye. Aur Haseena BP pe dhyan rakho. Diet, exercise aur gusaa kam karo. Also, aapka sugar level bhi borderline pe aya aaj. Toh for a week aap apni sugar pe watch rakhe home test se"
Haseena held her head in worry. Anubhav pressed her hand to assure her.
"Zyada tension ki baat hai kya Siddhi?"
"Nahi Anubhav. It's easy to get them under control...bas jo choti choti cheeze maine bataiye hai uspe dhyan rakho. Haseena ko in problems ki history nahi hsu. Bas pregnancy hormonal changes ki wajha se ho rahi hai"
She looked at her tensed face. The nurse entered with their ultrasound reports and handed it to Anubhav. He smiled gleefully, looking at his baby. It was just a dot like, in her first ultrasound which he failed to register.
"Dekhiye Haseena. Humara baby chote amrood (guava) jaisa hogaya hai. Peechli baar matar ke daane jaisa tha". He said, looking at both the ultrasounds.
"Maana ki aap humara mood acha karne ki kosish kar rahe hai. Lekin humare bache ko fal aur sabzi mat banaiye". Haseena said like a possessive mother resulting in a laugh by the other two.

"Agar agli baar hum gussa kare na toh hum zor se hug karna aur ek thande paani ka glass pakda dena" Haseena instructed him, while they moved out of the hospital. He kissed her temple and nodded. Both moved towards their car, which was parked on the otherside of their road.
"Jaana aap chaliye hum call lekar aate hai". He handed over the key to her. She crossed one side of the road and from the other side a speeding car raced towards her. She stepped backwards changing her direction. But the driver too turned the wheels towards her...
