→ Roadtrip With A Ghost ←
It's already lunch time and the three of you are nowhere near the destination. Koko stopped near a restaurant and treated you and Inupi.
"It's on me so the two of you order some food. I'll just make a call outside." Koko said before he left you two alone inside.
"Somebody's generous today." you commented.
"Let's not waste this chance to fill our stomach with good meals. Here, take a seat." Inupi said, pulling the chair for you to sit on.
"Oh you're such a gentleman, Inupi. Ehem, ehem unlike someone right there." you responded, eyeing Koko who's busy talking on the phone.
Inupi laughed it off as he sat on the chair in front of you. Scanning the menu, he started a conversation.
"You're not seriously annoyed or mad at Koko, right?" he asked.
"Why'd you ask?"
"Are you trying to dodge my question?"
You put down the menu on the table then looked at him. "Of course no. It's all just for fun. Besides, we have always been like this ever since high school."
"Is that so? Well then, do you think Koko will have the same answer as yours?" Inupi continued to ask, now having eye contact with you.
"I.. guess? Though sometimes I feel that he's actually getting mad at me for unknown reasons. Maybe he doesn't want me to be his friend.. I don't know." you answered, going back to scanning the menu.
Inupi held the menu you're looking at and placed it back down on the table. It left you confused.
"Koko treasured you as a dear friend to him. You know, since you've been with him for a long time already and you didn't leave him." Inupi assured you. It made you sort of change your perspective of Koko.
You smiled at him after hearing those words come out from your close friend. Koko then came back to see the two of you holding eye contact and smiling at each other.
He raised an eyebrow and had this suspicious look on you and Inupi. "What are you two doing? This isn't a date.. right?"
"A date? We were just talking about you and your volcano head." you responded, grinning.
Inupi chuckled, "Nothing really changed between the two of you, huh."
"I just left for about 7 minutes! Tell me, what exactly did you talk about?" Koko insisted.
"Like I said, we were talking about you, Koko." you answered.
"Huh? Is there anything to be happy about when I'm the topic?"
"Koko, sit down already! The food's about to be here. I'll just fill you in later." Inupi replied.
Koko had his suspicions up and looked at Inupi with his knife-like eyes. He was giving a 'I swear if you don't tell me the truth, I'll kill you.' vibe as he slowly sits down on the chair next to him.
"Ohh! The food's here!" Izana, who just popped out of thin air, shouted from excitement.
You flinched to suddenly hear his voice. Having this shocked, forced grin on your face, you kept thinking, 'Why is he here?'
Inupi was talking to you but you didn't get to respond. He then noticed your strange expression. "Y/n? Is something the matter?"
You snapped out of it then replied fast, "Huh? Nothing! Nothing."
Koko was gazing at you with a quite concerned look. "She's probably just tired from the long trip."
"But the trip wasn't even that-"
"Inupi, try this if it tastes good." Koko said with a sarcastic happy tone as he fed Inupi a spoonful of hot brown rice.
"I-It's.. very tasty!" Inupi replied, covering his mouth with a tissue while breathing out the steam.
"You have some lively friends here, Y/n. No wonder you always have a good mood around you." Izana said, observing you adoringly from behind.
"You know, I can't really talk. They will think I'm talking to myself." you whispered, eating in between.
"Ahahaha! You're nice enough to not ignore me in situations like this." he responded.
"C'mon, you know I can't ignore you. It will just both hurt me and you."
Izana continued to laugh then replied, "Hurt? Y/n, I'm just a ghost. You can't hurt me."
You stopped moving your hands and put down the utensils on the plate.
Koko and Inupi hasn't noticed your 'weird actions' yet so you grabbed a tissue and placed it in front of your lower face.
You whispered close to Izana, "You're still a human and humans have emotions. Whether you're alive or not, you can still feel pain."
Izana was left stunned at your response and had this amazed expression as he listened to what you said.
Koko noticed you and asked, "Oi. Did you choke on something, Y/n?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine. By the way, are we gonna leave already after this?" you answered, putting a smile on your face.
"Yeah. The client needs to go somewhere later at night so we have to speed things up a bit." he replied.
"Ah.. so all this is still connected to work. I thought we were on a vacation." you sighed.
"I never said anything about vacation. Right, Inupi?" Koko questioned, glancing at him.
"Uh.. yeah! I told her we were going on a trip that's related to work." Inupi responded.
"Ok, I'm on the wrong this time. Well, let's hurry up so we can go home early!" you said, stretching your arms out.
<👻>
It's already 1 PM and you were about to sleep in the car while Koko's focused on driving but Izana had to appear again sitting next to you.
"Could you roll down the window, Y/n?" Izana asked.
"Sure- You again?!" you accidentally shouted as you saw Izana sitting comfortably beside you.
"Y/n, quiet down. Inupi's sleeping." Koko scolded.
"S-Sorry. I just saw someone familiar." you responded.
"Izana! Will you please stop doing that?!" you whispered.
"Doing what? I'm just here to look after you." he answered in a cocky tone.
"What do you mean? Izana, let me sleep and don't disturb me." you said, closing your eyes.
"Ok, I won't disturb you any longer. Sweet dreams~" he whispered closely to your ear.
You peeled your eyes open to look at where Izana was sitting but he had already left. 'What.. was that about?'
You were simply left dumbfounded by his words. That gave you shivers down your spine. His voice was light and cold to your hearing.
'Why did you whisper like that to me??'
