"ROBIN, COME IN YOU PIECE OF SHIT," Eddie screamed into his walkie after minutes of trying to get through to her.
"What?," She finally answered, sounding annoyed. She'd been on the phone with Steve asking about a science project they were doing together.
"Code. Fucking. Red." He smiled ear to ear, knowing Robin would know exactly what he meant.
"Oh shit. Your trailer in 10. I'll be right there." She went back to the phone, Steve still on the line, and told him she had to go do something. Robin hung up and sprinted to her bike, heading in the direction of Eddie's trailer.
When Eddie pulled up to his trailer, he got out of his car and threw the trailer door open, not even closing it. First thing he did, of course, was roll a j and turn on the radio.
I woke up today, the papers spoke of a man we know. He's made of the stuff they say that first made our country grow
He took a drag and smiled, 'Hell yeah, it's my song." Eddie dramatically played the air guitar and screamed the lyrics.
Eddie, now don't you run
You know you're a bootlegger's son
And you saw just what it's done to the others
Eddie, now don't you run
It's the end of all your fun
And you saw just what they've done
To your brothers.....
Just then, he saw Robin pull up. He discarded his jeans and Hellfire shirt, leaving him in only his boxers. She walked into the trailer and smiled wildly. "Alright, how'd you swing this one Munson?"
"I just told him we should hang out, and he can decide if he really hates me all that much." Eddie nervously went through his clothes while talking to Robin, throwing stuff behind him, trying to find the perfect outfit. When Eddie said "code red", Robin knew what that meant. She's known Eddie's feelings for Steve for a while now.
"Well, Munson, I've gotta say I'm proud of you. Finally put on some big boy pants and decided to go for it," She teased. "Hey, how about this?" She threw a white t-shirt, leather pants, and a denim vest on to Eddie's bed.
"I don't know what came over me, honestly. But I guess I'm glad I asked. I'm just nervous," He looked at the outfit and thought for a moment, "Simple, but I like it. I think I can make it better" Eddie smirked and grabbed a razor from his nightstand drawer. He began cropping the white t-shirt so it would sit right above his belly button. After putting the outfit on, he glanced in the mirror and smirked. He earned an approving nod from Robin.
"Unless you need any more emotional support, I'm gonna bounce," Robin stated, "I've got an entire science project to do alone because my partner ditched me to hang out with a certain someone." Eddie's eyes widened and Robin laughed.
"R-really? Ditched his best friend for the freak?" Eddie's hands shook with excitement- with nervousness. Robin nodded and headed for the door.
"Oh, looks like your boyfriend is here, Eds." She snickered and passed by Steve in his car.
"Robin? What the hell are you doing here?" Steve looked at Eddie standing in the doorway, arms lifted and leaning on the top part of the door. He took a moment to notice his toned stomach peeking out of his cropped white tee.
"I was told there was a code red," She said while getting on her bike, "Have fun, dingus." She winked and started pedaling away. Steve sighed and got out of his car, running a hand through his hair. Why was he even doing this? Eddie really got on his nerves.
"Harrington," Eddie spoke, turning from the doorway and walking into the living room of his trailer, once again, sparking a blunt. Had to calm the nerves somehow. "Wasn't sure if you'd show."
"Yeah well, here I am," Steve spoke, walking in to plop down next to Eddie on the couch, still confused on why Robin was there. And what was the code red?
"Well, I've got a bunch of shit planned, so buckle up," Eddie smirked and passed Steve the blunt. He reluctantly took it between his fingers, brushing against Eddie's hand doing so. He thought for a moment and then took a hit. Eddie smiled and clapped. "That's what I'm talkin about." Steve coughed for a second and smiled.
"Never smoked before," He stated blankly. "There's a first time for everything though, right?" He turned to Eddie, meeting his eyes straight on, also a first for him.
"Yeah, for sure. Hey, your eyes are really p-" Just then, Eddie's attention was directed at the song playing through his bedroom speakers. "Let's relocate to my room. Love this song." Eddie stood up, playing electric guitar the whole walk there, finally jumping onto his bed dramatically and sitting criss-cross in the middle of it. Steve ignored the compliment that almost slipped from Eddie's lips and listened intently to the song playing that Eddie was so invested in hearing, standing awkwardly at the end of his bed.
"Well, come sit. You don't have to just stand there." Eddie scooted over and Steve took the edge of the end of the bed.
They sat, and the song started.
