I yawn. Why was I doing this again? Why was I not in bed oversleeping? Why was I allowing myself to be surrounded by these pompous sweaty pricks who think they're better than everybody else just because they had castles and wealth?

I twist my body to the left then I twist it right, hoping to stretch my body into wakefulness.

And I see the reason walk into the grounds. The person who could make this all worth it.

Prince Bright.

Why are you looking at me like that? He's the reason BECAUSE beating him will make all of this worth my while. Winning over a prince is my reason obviously. What else could it be?

I take another glance at him

I take another glance at him. Unlike everyone else here who were decked in Olympian-level designer compression wear, Bright was in a plain black tracksuit, his number pinned haphazardly to his lapel - not that the Royal Prince needed a number to be identified. His hair was tousled and look slightly damp as if he didn't have the time to dry it fully after his morning shower. One of his sneakers were untied. He walks to his section, at least ten guards following him but still he manages to trip a little.

I roll my eyes. All those imperfections just made him seem more perfect. Which again was obvious freaking favoritism from God and the Universe. If anything the small flaws made him seem more relatable - making you believe there was some mortal mixed in with the god.

And apparently, I was poetic in the morning. Who knew?

Another yawn forces its way out my mouth and I cannot help but wonder if the Prince got any sleep last night. He texted me but I was out like a light the moment I got home so I never got to respond.

Which was of course his fault. Training for three sports in one day proved to be a dumb decision.

Sure, it was pretty fun.
Even if at one point I had to lay down in the middle of the boxing ring and beg for the sweet release of death just so we'd stop for a dinner break.

Bright bent down then and for a moment I thought he was going to sucker punch me in the gut but he just collapsed beside me, looking as relieved as I was to be done moving around.

We fell asleep in the boxing ring. Can you believe it? That was how exhausted we were. If Mindy didn't find us and wake us up, I may have never made it to home, much less to this tournament.

Come to think of it, I didn't get the dinner part of our supposed dinner break.

A thrill runs through my veins. I can start using my castle pass tonight and badger the Royal Cook for food! How exciting! I wonder if Bright liked burgers. Or maybe kebabs? I mean I'd have to invite him to join me to eat, right? It is his castle.

I rub my hands together. Who do I have to defeat to get this over with? I want my dinner.
