"I did it! I found it!" I exclaimed while I opened the door to my house. Silence followed, "Hello, anyone home?" I asked out loud. Again no one responded.
I walked towards the living room where everyone usually hangs out. Instead of being met with all their faces I've been met with writing everywhere written by scratches. "The price to pay", the message being accompanied by blood spatters.
My legs couldn't hold up any more. I fell to my knees, tears streaming down my face. My family has already been taken from me once, why did it have to happen again.
The sudden realisation struck me. I was reminded of the stories of this treasure. The one person who found it hid it again for a reason. "It is said that despite achieving the great wish that can give you anything one desires, he was given more despair then when he first started his quest" a line all the stories have. How could I be so stupid to forget that.
I reached in my bag and grabbed the treasure. The treasure took on the form of a crystal ball, I held it in my hands ready to make a wish. It started glowing ready to give whatever I desire. "I want my family back" I said to the treasure on my hand. The glowing of the treasure just disappeared.
Something in me just told me it was impossible to get them back, neither of them could be brought back.
