Summer of '05
It was the Summer Camp of '05
I was from the South
You were from the North
I'd say two weeks was way too shortSame humor and thinking mind
Talking for hours under the setting sun
Like two peas in a pod
We click and instantly bondMonday of the second week
When you first took my hand
Illuminated by the crackling bonfire
We danced the night like a lady and sireWednesday was the memorable day, I'd say
We sneaked out to the lake for some air
Under the big oak tree we carved our name
Shared a kissed and our heart was lit aflameSaturday was the day
Goodbyes are truly hard to say
With a promised bond to meet
Far in the future, each other we'll seekSeasons changed
The future came like we said
After ten whole years
Seeing you brought me to tearsNow that we're older
Probably wiser and bolder
Can we make it work and thrive
What we started that summer of '05
