"𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐘, 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍 𝐈𝐓 on!"
'I'm trying!'
The radio flickered to life, a broadcaster's voice filtering through the static. The couple leaned forward eagerly. This was huge. They were finally reaching the moon, something that would be one big step towards space travel. It was fascinating to watch another species make it to this extent.
"The eagle has landed. Four hundred million persons are watching this broadcast today of the greatest event in our time and one of the greatest events of all reported history."
Eclipse couldn't help but grin as she listened. The feeling of traveling to another planet or moon from the one you lived on was quite the feeling—even if her first time was when she was much younger. They did have way more advanced technology, though.
"That's one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind." The voice of one of the astronauts filtered through.
But then it all went static.
"We now have had confirmation of lost signal from the Apollo 11. The Apollo 11, at the moment, is on the far side of the moon."
They both shared an uneasy look, wondering what could've happened.
Twenty minutes or so later, their nerves were eased when they got back in signal once more.
"Okay, well I'm bored now." Eclipse stretched her arms above her head as she walked away from the radio set up in the yard.
Bumblebee and the femme approached where their tasks were originally laid out along the green grass. Two white shirts were there along with various colors of dye in bottles.
'What do we do first?' He asked when he caught her eye.
She sat down in front of her t-shirt, crossing her legs over one another. He repeated her actions from across her, watching her movements carefully so he could do it himself. Only, she didn't really know exactly what she was doing. It was all experimental because of their fascination with the bright-colored clothing people called 'hippies' wore.
Bumblebee proposed they just use their holotech to get their own, but Eclipse insisted that the process of making it was the best part. They can't cheat.
Now he watched her in amusement as she attempted to figure out the placement of a rubber band along the rolled-up shirt.
"And, there!" The rubber bands were oddly placed, but it made... somewhat sense.
Until he had to do it himself.
His fingers struggled to put them over the messily scrunched-up shirt. He broke a few in the process, but eventually managed to get a few rubber bands on. He hoped it came out decent.
"Okay, now we just squirt the dye all over." She paused, "I think."
He shook his head with a silent chuckle as he grabbed the yellow, delicately placing the dye in between the bands. It was as if he was suddenly some artist, every stroke—or squirt of dye—planned intricately. Eclipse, however, grabbed random colors of dye and went crazy. It splashed up, getting on the both of them.
He silently protested for the femme getting dye on him, but she was focused on grabbing a bucket of water to wash off her shirt—not knowing she had to wait to do so.
Bumblebee huffed before grabbing the orange and squeezing the plastic bottle so it hit her dead in the chest. The femme gasped, staring at him as if he was crazed before a mischievous glint could be seen in her eyes.
His face paled as she suddenly threw the entire bucket of water on him, soaking the scout from head to toe. He wiped the water from his eyes, ignoring the fact his clothes and hair, now drenched, stuck to his skin. His holo flickered slightly, their non-upgraded tech glitchy in water.
They were alone so he didn't mind.
Her laughter was contagious, causing him to join along.
But then it came time to unravel their shirts.
They held it up to display their work, holding it up to their bodies. Most of the colorful dye had been washed away from Eclipse's given she didn't give it time to sit in. Bumblebee's however, stood out in a strangely perfect spiral of yellow and white.
She gaped, "How did you...?"
The mech smirked, still slightly damp from earlier, 'I'm just good at everything I guess.'
"Uh huh, sure." She teased with a roll of her eyes, "Like what?"
'I'm good at racing.' He began, subtly taking steps toward the femme with her hands on her hips.
"Whatever helps you recharge."
'I'm good at dancing.'
The femme turned around purposefully so she couldn't read his lips, jokingly of course, "You're welcome."
Bumblebee slipped his arms around her waist so her back pressed against him. He lowered himself slightly so his chin rested on her shoulder. Her spark fluttered no matter how many times he had done this, but refused to let down her act of stubbornness.
He turned on their commlink in response to her unacknowledgment, something she didn't think of in the moment.
⁖ I'm good at kissing too. ⁖
Eclipse burst into surprised giggles as he suddenly began attacking her neck with short kisses, holding his arms around her so she couldn't escape.
"Okay, okay you win!" She shrieked, escaping his arms, "Primus, when did you become such a flirt?"
