In which Grace Harrington hears a clock
Grace Harrington sat in her pyjamas watching the news eating a bowl of cereal her hair tied up in a messy bun with several blue strands hanging down, the brunette watched with interest as a reporter announced the murder of a Hawkins High student Grace watched when a knock suddenly from the Harrington's front door thinking Steve had forgotten something as he had left for work about half an hour earlier she groaned putting her cereal on the table and walking towards the door.
Grace had not expected to see the police at her doorstep at 10 o clock on a Saturday morning however here they were "good morning Miss Harrington may we come in? We have a few questions for you" Grace stuttered moving to the side allowing them passage into her home "is anyone else home Grace? Your bother? Your parents perhaps?" Cheif Powell asked politely smiling at the girl in hopes of easing her nerves "nope Steve left for work about 30 minutes ago and mom and dad don't get home for another two weeks" the man nodded sitting down at the kitchen table Officer Callahan beside him, the brunette sat opposite them her hands fiddling with the hem of her shirt nervously "okay whatever you think I did it wasn't me" the men laughed fueling the girls confusion "that's not why we're here Grace" grace tilted her head "then why are you here?" she asked curiously Cheif Powell took out a notebook filled with yellow paper and various police notes "I need to know where you were at 9:27 last night" Grace thought back to the previous night and the things she had witnessed "I was at home watching Grease on my couch" Powell nodded "did you speak to Chrissy Cunningham at all yesterday?" Grace's eyebrows shit up in confusion "Chrissy? Wait- has something happened to Chrissy?" worry took over her mind at the thought of her best friend possibly being hurt Powell sighed sadly looking at Grace with sympathy "Grace, Chrissy was killed last night at the trailer park outside of town I know this could be a lot to take in however we need your cooperation" the brunettes world froze.
Chrissy Cunningham was dead. Her best friend was dead. The girl she considered her sister was dead. Sobs racked Grace's body as tears streamed down her face her hands covering her mouth to quieten herself the two men sighed standing up "we'll give you a moment come find us when your ready" Grace didn't speak, she couldn't her breath got caught in her throat as she made her way out of the kitchen and into her bedroom where a photo of a 6 year old Grace Harrington and Chrissy Cunningham lay a broad smile on both of their faces as they held chocolate ice creams, Grace picked up the photo holding it in her shaky hand she stared at it for a couple of minutes just taking in the happy expressions on their faces.
A wave of anger surged through the Harrington girl anger at the vile monster that did this to her Chrissy was an amazing girl always so kind and caring Grace never once felt sad in her presence she put the photo down on her bed wiping her eyes going back down to the living room where Powell and Callahan sat "I'm ready, to talk I wanna catch the dick that killed my best friend" the two men looked at each other then bsc kat the teen "take a seat Grace" she sat back down taking a deep breath to steady herself "did Chrissy mention anything to you that could have been seen as peculiar in any way?" Grace thought back to their previous conversations "she'd mention headaches and nightmares a lot she said se saw something once but she never told me what" Grace thought over what she had just said over the past few days she had random headaches that were quite painful, she was waking up jn a cold sweet because of the nightmares that plagued her mind at night, she saw that thing last night she decided it was nothing and looked back at the police.
