Grover becomes a leg

"Alright, here's our plan of attack. The Galra empire knows about the blue and yellow lion, but they don't know we have the green lion too. Grover and Percy will act as decoys by pretending to give themselves up."

Percy spoke into his helmet, hoping it was connected to the ship's speaker system. "Attention Galra ship! Do not fire, we're giving up our lions."

"Yes, please don't!" Grover squeaked.

"While they are distracted, Nico, Annabeth, and I will sneak onto the ship in the green lion. Nico and I will find the red lion while Annabeth guards our exit. Grover and Percy, you have to find some way to take down that ion cannon."

Floating in space was weird, but Nico got used to the feeling very quickly. He and Jason watched as Annabeth cut a neat circle into the bottom of the Galra ship with a laser that Will and Piper had offered them. "Alright, move in," Jason said in a low voice, the first to pull himself through the hole, and when the coast was clear, Annabeth and Nico followed shortly after.

"Annabeth, are you guys in yet? I don't think we can fake surrender forever. These cat dudes are probably gonna claw our eyes out or something," Percy hissed over the communication line, and Nico knew he would get very annoyed very soon with everyone's voices buzzing around in his head.

From next to them, Annabeth floated down to the ground, helmet retracting once the air was breathable, "We're in. You're in a giant cat yourself Percy, I'm sure you can figure it out."

The inside of the Galra ship looked strange, but it was just what Nico expected from these people. Capsules of purple energy buzzed, providing them light as they snuck down the corridor, though they had only managed a minute of peace before there was yelling over their headsets.

"Whoa whoa whoa Percy what is that!"

"That my friend, is our sign to get the hell out of here!"

"Guys, what's going on?" Jason asked as the ship quaked under their feet.

There was panting on the line before Percy responded, "They tried to suck us in with a tractor beam or something, but we dodged. Now they know we're not giving up the lions- whoa they just released more ships after us!"

Nico had been expecting this to happen, they all did, just not this soon. "Grover, your lions bigger so you need to find a way to take out that cannon," Annabeth ordered, "Percy, lead those fighters away!"

"Roger!" Both of the voices shouted before it was quiet once again. Nico thought that if Jason weren't here, then Annabeth would make a great leader if she wasn't so secretive.

Nico took the lead, turning down a corridor. He was just hoping blindly that they would run across the red lion soon, but they weren't having any luck so far. Annabeth crouched at the end of the hallway, though they came to a stop when Jason suddenly froze, turning to look further down the corridor.

"Jason, do you see anything?" Nico asked, sneaking closer to the blonde. But his vision wasn't focused on the end of the hallway, no, it was like he wasn't even there with them. "Jason," he tried again, snapping under his nose, and that seemed to do it because with a start, Jason clutched his head.

"What is it?" Annabeth asked, jogging to meet them, "did you have a flashback?"

"I've been here before," he admitted, gaze shifting between the two, "after Kerberose, this is where the Galra cruiser brought us."

Nico didn't miss the way Annabeth's expression lit up, as if that was the best news she had ever heard. "That means your crewmembers must be here! We have to go after them."

And it was strange to Nico how Annabeth, of all people, would risk the mission. He understood that there were prisoners, but that wasn't their objective, and somehow that had blinded Annabeth, the most goal oriented person that Nico had ever gotten to know.
