Bonus scene- infirmary

Will scanned the video feed of the lions desperately trying to avoid the weapons system. With a jolt he realized that Piper had set it on auto lock and left the paladins to fight for themselves.

Harsh.

Will understood Piper's haste to work the paladins until they were ready to fight Zarkon, but this was just not the way to do it. Will had been researching everything he could about the human body system, and they were shockingly similar to Alteans minus their durability and strength.

Humans were far weaker than them, but Piper hadn't seemed to realize yet. Perhaps, Will thought, she was blinded by her own thirst for revenge.

He would need to have a talk with her about that at a later time. Now though, he hastily turned off the auto lock system and watched, hands clasped together, as the lions rose from their laying positions.

"Oh thank god!" Grover moaned, "she had mercy on us!"

"Is everyone in one piece?" Jason, ever the worrier, had asked everyone.

"All good," Annabeth replied at the same time as Grover.

Then silence.

Will held his breath and it took a full minute for the blue lion to rise and for Percy to groan, "man, I banged my head against the dash pretty hard."

Will hurriedly turned the comm system on that Piper had muted, "paladins, report to the infirmary so I can check over your wounds."

"Will, you were the one who turned that off?" Grover asked, sounding like he was about to cry, "my hero."

"Let's grab red and get to the castle before the princess gets any more ideas," Annabeth growled, and if she was a zana gecion then Will was sure her hackles would be raised.

Ah, he would miss Zana Gecion's. He would miss Altea.

"Roger," Percy replied as he and Jason grabbed the fallen red lion, hauling it back to the hangar. Will scrambled to get the infirmary ready, and by the time fresh sheets had been laid out on the beds, Percy and Jason were dragging Nico through the door, Annabeth and Grover in hot pursuit.

Will was quick to help them lay Nico down onto the bed, ordering Percy to take a seat on the other nearby one. He, Grover, and Annabeth started a silent conversation amongst themselves while Jason hovered over Nico.

"Will he be okay?" The leader asked, hands gripping the railing.

"As far as I can tell, he seems relatively unharmed," Will answered, and selfishly, it felt good to be back in medic mode again. He just hated that he had to use it for Nico. "A small gash on the head, though what worries me most is a different injury."

Jason sighed, "there's another one?"

"Yes, it looks like it happened just yesterday," Will pointed to Nico's thigh and how the already black fabric had darkened. "It looks like it opened up after training today."

"It must have happened on the ship," Jason realized, "I should have stayed to look for the red lion with him."

"No reason to beat yourself up over it," Will said easily as he wrapped a bandage around Nico's leg, four times to be safe. He didn't know what humans deals were with hiding injuries and pretending that they were okay when they really weren't. Then again, maybe that was just this particular humans problem. "What's done is done  and Nico is relatively okay."

"I don't know what Alteans' definition of 'okay' is," the black paladin replied miserably.

"We'll, as far as I can tell, Nico's not a very healthy person in general," Will elbow bumped Jason as he moved to put away the bandage, "but I plan to fix that while he's living in my castle, so cheer up!"
