"They can't just do that! They can't just send me away!", yelled Kie as she spoke on the phone with Y/N, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the steering wheel of her car. She needed to get out of the house or she would freak. She was beyond angry.
How could her parents just send her to boarding school?, she thought.
As she sat on her bed, legs crossed with her phone to her ear, Y/N couldn't believe what she was hearing. Yeah she heard that her parents were threatening to send her to boarding school, but she didn't think they actually would. Boy was she wrong.
"It's going to be okay Kie, we'll figure something out", I replied back softly, "We always do"
She was hoping by speaking calmly it would help Kie to calm down. And it did. Immediately after hearing Y/N's sweet voice, Kie slowly began to feel her breathing slow and her grip loosen on the steering wheel. She didn't realize she was holding onto the steering wheel so hard until she started to feel an ache in her knuckles.
"You're right, Y/N. I'm sorry", replied Kie feeling guilty for yelling. She didn't mean to get so worked up.
"Why are you sorry?", asked Y/N confused as to why she would be apologizing. She didn't do anything wrong.
"For yelling", replied Kie, "I didn't mean to get so worked up and raise my voice"
Y/N softly chuckled, "You don't need to apologize. I would've reacted the same way."
Kie felt her heart race and her cheeks heat up. She didn't even realize that she had the biggest smile on her face. Something about Y/N's positive attitude and her understanding made Kie feel secure and appreciated.
"Okay", she replied meekly, "thank you"
"For what?", asked Y/N with genuine confusion.
"For always being there for me and being so understanding", Kie replied, "I don't know what I'd do without you."
Y/N felt her cheeks blush and her heart race. God did she love this girl, she thought.
Before Y/N could respond, she felt her phone vibrate. At the same time Kie's phone went off too. Y/N pulled her phone away from her ear to read the text.
"SOS! 4th and Seneca", it read.
"Shit", Y/N said, her eyes widening and her breathing quickening.
"What? What does it say?", Kie asked with fear and confusion in her voice. She couldn't look at her phone as she was driving.
"It's JJ", replied Y/N, "he's in trouble." She didn't realize she began to pace her room until she stubbed her toe on her dresser. She refrained from cursing seeing as there was a more important matter at hand.
"I'll be there in 2", replied Kie before the phone line went dead.
Y/N didn't even have to think as she threw on her hoodie and shoes, making her way outside. Just as she stepped out her front door, Kie's car came racing down the street. Immediately Y/N hopped in. The car hadn't even stopped yet, but she didn't care. Her friend needed her.
Kie didn't have to ask where they were going as Y/N said, "4th and Seneca."
The girls didn't talk as they raced towards the intersection. As they were just about to their destination, they saw an ambulance with its lights on racing down the street. Y/N and Kie looked at each other briefly before Y/N nodded her head. There was no way an ambulance happened to be coming down the same street JJ just told them to be.
