Summary: You just transferred to the Kook Academy and befriended a certain blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl. Will the friendship become more?

Warning: Slight Swearing, Mentions of Homophobia

Today was my first day at the so-called Kook Academy. I wasn't even classified as a Kook, yet here I was. It was the middle of April, literally two months before school got out, when I transferred.

Why was I transferring right towards the end of the school year? One word. Homophobia. That's right. You would think that in this day in age people would be more accepting of other sexuality, but no. I guess being the only openly gay student in school, gets you special treatment. Even if it's the bad kind.

After being fed up with bullying, I finally snapped. I broke a guy's nose, sprained my wrist, yada yada. Now here I was. Standing in the front of the school in this uncomfortable uniform. I didn't know anyone, but then again, I didn't care.

As I walked into the main office to grab my schedule and whatnot when I noticed a blonde-haired girl and a somewhat tall, lanky looking, blonde dude quietly arguing. Immediately I thought the girl was super cute, but that's between me, myself, and I.

"No you don't Topper", I heard the girl whisper rather aggressively. Who the hell names their kids Topper?, I asked myself.

"Excuse me?", I heard. I snapped my head to the side to see an older lady sitting at a desk. She seemed to have noticed me standing there looking completely lost. "Can I help you?", she asked sweetly.

"Yes", I replied kindly, "I'm new here and I need my schedule and locker and stuff", I continued awkwardly. I hated talking to grown ups. They made me self-conscious.

"Yes, of course", she responded. After getting everything I needed to go about my day, I finally made it to my first period which happened to be gym. I just love gym class at 8 o'clock in the morning. I didn't have any gym clothes therefore I just sat in the locker room until it was time to go.

"Isn't that the lesbian chick that broke that guys nose?", asked one particularly bitchy looking red-headed Kook. I pretended I didn't hear and played on my phone. I could feel their eyes on me, but chose to ignore them. I was pretty good at ignoring people when they talked about me.

Suddenly, the same girl who was talking to "Topper" slammed her locker. Everyone stopped talking and looked at her. Even in her gym clothes she looked absolutely stunning. I couldn't get over how beautiful she was. I was interrupted from my thoughts when she said, "Aren't you the chick that cheated on her boyfriend with his brother?'" she finished with a little smirk.

There were a couple of gasps as well as some girls giggling. I didn't know what to do but stare at her, my eyes wide and mouth agape. Damn, I thought, that was hot. She didn't even know me, yet here she was standing up for me.

The red-head was fuming. I'm pretty sure her cheeks matched her hair. Before she could say anything, the teacher blew their whistle signaling the start of class. As we walked out of the locker room the girl, who totally humiliated the bitchy red-head, turned to me with a smile and winked. That's right, she winked at me. I'm surprised I didn't faint on the spot. At that point I didn't know how I was going to get through gym class. I was already having heart palpitations.

After gym, I had chemistry. Seeing as it was so late in the school year, everyone already had a partner, except for the girl. The girl who's name I did not know. The girl who I couldn't get out of my mind. The girl who stuck up for me despite not knowing who I was.

I walked into class not knowing where to sit until the teacher pointed to the girl and said, "Go have a seat with Sarah. You can be her partner for the remainder of the semester."

Sarah

I could not stop saying her name in my head. She looks like a Sarah, I thought. It wasn't until the teacher coughed that I snapped out of my thoughts.

"You can go take your seat now", she said, motioning towards Sarah. The class had as few snickers, the rest of them didn't care. I sat down, my hands shaking and my heart beating a mile a minute.

I hope she can't hear how fast my heart is beating, I thought to myself.

"Hi", she said as she looked at me. Her voice was so soft and sweet, I could listen to it all day. "Hi", I barely mumbled back in reply. She was so gorgeous I couldn't look her in the eye.

"I'm Sarah", she said with a sweet smile. I think she was trying to help me with my nervousness, but it only made it worse. Why was I such an awkward human being?

"I'm Y/N", I replied back with a smile of my own. "Nice to meet you", I added.

Good Y/N, you're building some confidence, I thought.

"You too", she replied, her smile never fading. "So, ready to learn about stuff we aren't going to use in our day-to-day life?", she finished with her eyebrow raised as she opened her notebook.

I chuckled and said, "Yeah, sure am", looking at her with a soft smile.

Maybe this school wouldn't be so bad.
