Song - Oblivion Bastille
Tris' POV
"Tris, where are you?" I hear Tobias shout to me.
"I'm down here, under the bed." I say,
Suddenly I see a Tobias' head pop underneath the bed. I know the question is coming.
"Why, may I ask, are you under the bed?"
"I... Erm." I try to think of answer but I can't explain myself really. He surprisingly joins me, laying on the soft carpeted floor, staring at the base of the bed.
"I just wanted to think. You didn't have to come underneath." I say remembering his fear of claustrophobia.
"It's okay." He says, taking my hand in his.
" I think we should go." He says, turning to face me. I crawl onto my knees offering him a hand, only he denies the offer.
"No. I mean I've been thinking, I want to go back to Dauntless. We could take Tamara with us, I don't want to stay here any longer, it's kind of getting annoying." He says, referring to the noises we hear almost every night, above us.
I sit up immediately, looking and feeling surprised. Although to be honest, our goal was to find Tobias' sister and we've exceeded that so I guess it's time to depart. A smile, widens on my face.
"What are you smiling at?" Tobias says with a chuckle, "do I have something on my face or something?"
"No." I answer.
"Then what?" He says with a hint of laughter.'This is the moment', I think to myself. The right moment to tell him. C'mon Tris say it.
"I'm proud of you, despite everything you're still you and you care for your sister. I agree, I feel the same. I want to go home. This isn't home. Being near your Mother has got to be difficult. I know you think I probably don't understand what it's like, and you're right about that but don't ever doubt that I'm not here for you. I know we're taking it slowly, and I appreciate that greatly. I love you. You know I do, and you mean so much to me. Don't worry, I'm not a mushy love person but I just wanted you to remind you that I do love you." I say as I cup his cheek in my hand.
"I love you too." He says gazing directly into my eyes, his lips meet my forehead, and I find myself being pulled into his soft muscular chest.
***********"I want to come with you." Tamara tells the two of us. I give her a small smile.
"Tobias, how are we going to get this to work? I mean Evelyn will notice that she's gone." I say.
"I can help with that..." Tamara says. Tobias and I turn toward Tamara.
"My Mom was already planning to send me to a boarding school." Tobias and I freeze, unsure what that means.
"It's a school where you basically live. You sleep there, work there, live there. You do however get half terms of to come back home but you can chose whether or not to go home. I can just say I'm going to boarding school, she won't care. It wouldn't be a problem either because she wouldn't visit anyway and I hate living here."
"Tamara, you're brilliant." Says a smiling Tobias.
