Tamara's POV
"Do you have every thing you need?" My Mother asks me.
"Yes Mother, I have everything I need. Thank you." I say firmly.
"Well I guess this is goodbye. I'll see you in a couple of years."
"Goodbye Mother." I say as she kisses my temple, one of the only affectionate gestures I've ever gotten from her.

"When we get to the compound, you might be a little shocked. It's a lot different than living in abnegation or factionless. Even when you're only touring, it's still not the same." Tobias tells me.
"Our friends are going to absolutely love you. Especially Hector... Know what I'm saying Four?" Tris says to my brother, while raising her eyebrows and smirking.
"We'll see..." He says while sending an annoyed facial expression back to his girlfriend.
"Uriah will definitely love you..."
"Question. Where am I going to live?" I ask, puzzled.
"You could stay in the dorms with the others or you could stay with us. There's a spare room at our place." My brother tells me.
"Hmm... You both did get the whole 'birds and bees conversation didn't you?" I ask.
"And I thought I should be the one asking you that question... You're definitely the smartest nine year old I've ever met..." He continues.
"I think I'll decide when we get there." I tell them.
"We're pretty close now, get ready to jump." Tris says.
"Jump? Say what? We're on a moving train..."
"Oh I forgot to mention... To get into the Dauntless compound, you have to jump of a train and onto that building..." Tobias says as he points towards a rooftop.
"Oh forgot? Really?" I say in annoyance.
"C'mon sis. No time to chat."

I leap with all my might after the count of four. My whole body collides with a mixture of gravel and dust. My heart slams against my chest and my head begins to pound. Faster, harder, faster, harder. My vision becomes blurry as I try to stand straight. Every part of my body shakes, trying to slam down into the ground once more, yet something stops me.

"T are you okay?" Tris says as she holds me up.
"Yeah, I'll be fine, just went a little dizzy." I answer truthfully.
"Babe, you go first. Tamara can't go first, not like this."
"Firstly, babe really? You guys are cute and all but you make me sick bro. Secondly, what do you mean I can't go first? First with what?"
"Yougottajumpofthatwallfreefall300ftandlandinanet." My brother says rapidly, trying to avoid me hearing what he said.
"Say. WHAT?" I say with my heart in my mouth.
"What this idiot means is.." Tris begins, elbowing Tobias in the arm.
"Ow..." Tobias interrupts.
"Wow, for a skinny abnegation girl." He says as Tris stomps lightly on his foot.
"Your girlfriend's scary four " I say with a slight hinge of laughter.
"I know..." He says, slinging an arm around Tris' shoulder.
"Aren't you suppose to be the tough one?" I respond hesitantly.
Tobias looks like he's about to say something, but he just kisses Tris' forehead and mine also. He begins moving toward the edge of the building. In a blink of an eye, his body disappears over the edge of the brick building.
"What are you doing?" I scream.
"Tamara it's okay, this is the way into dauntless. It's safe. I promise." Tris says, pulling me into a hug.
"You ready to go down?"
" okay, yeah, no, maybe, yes, I don't know. Okay I'll go.." I say no more before swinging my body onto the ledge and then off again until I'm free falling. My body rushes with adrenaline. My blood is pumping. My arms flail and my skin feels torn as the g-force of the fall is so powerful. Within a 5 second period, my body collides with a strong net. Laughter begins spilling out of my mouth. I'm overwhelmed and laughing. However, I don't know why. As I feel two hands grab my hands to pull me up out of the net, I feel two long strange stares pointed directly at me. I shake the feeling off of myself and clamber out.

"Welcome to Dauntless" T and Tobias say in unison. I don't think it's meant to come across creepy but it sure does.
