Taylor's POV

I wake to the sound of my alarm going off, signaling me that it is time to get up, and get Dylan ready for school. I turn off my alarm and make my way out of bed and down the hall to her room.

"Hey sweetie it's time to wake up," I say softly, while lightly rubbing her back. She stirs slightly. "Dylan, baby, it's your first day of school, let's wake up and get ready," I urge, still rubbing her back. With that, she opens her eyes.

"It's time for school with the playground?!" She excitedly shouts, sitting up immediately. I laugh lightly.

"Yes sweetie, get dressed and I will go downstairs to make you some breakfast, how does that sound?" I match her energy.

"Pancakes?" She questions.

"Of course, honey," I assure her, then head downstairs to the kitchen. I begin to make pancake batter, adding blueberries, to make them extra special for her. I place a scoop of the batter onto the grill, before grabbing a glass from the cupboard for her orange juice.

Once her breakfast is made, I make myself a cup of coffee. She is already downstairs downing her pancakes, excited to get to school. I make my way upstairs to shower, get dressed, do my hair and makeup. By the time I am finished, Dylan has her shoes and her backpack on, eager to leave.

We go to the car, I buckle her into her booster seat, before getting into the driver's side and heading towards the school.

                         ****************

Once we are out of the car, Dylan grabs my hand, and we make our way into the building. We got here a little early, so I can make sure Dylan is comfortable and settled in. As we are walking towards her classroom, Miss Kloss is standing at the door ready to greet us.

"Good morning, Dylan! I am so happy you're here! We are going to have so much fun together today." Miss Kloss says with a smile, while crouched down to Dylan's level. Dylan begins to hide behind my legs, as she does when she is anxious.

"Good morning," Dylan says, peaking around the side of my leg to look at her teacher.

"Good morning to you too Taylor," Miss Kloss, stands up, reaching her hand out, with a smile still plastered on her face.

"Good morning, Miss Kloss," I smile back, taking her hand, "Dylan seems to be kind of shy at the moment," I look down to my daughter, releasing Miss Kloss's hand. "Sweetie you are going to be just fine, Miss Kloss is going to take such good care of you, and you are going to have so much fun. Remember there's a playground here!" I say hoping to ease her nerves. She nods in response, eyes lighting up at the mention of the playground.

"Yes Dylan! We are going to meet all of our friends this morning and then we get to go play on that playground before story time!" Miss Kloss assures her.

"Come on honey, let's go find your chair, okay?" Dylan nods and follows me into the classroom. She finds her chair and sits down, finding paper and a crayon to begin coloring. There are no other children in the classroom yet and Miss Kloss went to sit at her desk, I'm assuming to prepare for the day. I reassure Dylan that I will be back in just a second, that I need to speak with her teacher. Now seems like the perfect time to talk with this woman alone. I haven't been able to stop thinking about our brief conversations from yesterday. I make my way to her desk and sit in a chair across from her.

"Hey Miss Kloss, thank you for this," I wave my arms to gesture the classroom and the normality of everything. She looks up at me smiling.

"Taylor, you can call me Karlie," she begins. 'Karlie Kloss. That's a beautiful name.'  I think to myself, "and honestly, I had no idea until Mr. Boone called me into the hallway yesterday, you have nothing to worry about. Everything will be normal, and the children are still young. They won't associate her with you yet, I don't believe," I sighed a breath of relief at that. This woman in front of me is pure sunshine.
