Taylor's POV

"Come on mommy! Let's go! I want to color!" Dylan yells at me, dragging me by my hand into the school. I haven't seen or talked to Karlie since last night after her 'date' with Toni, and I couldn't be more nervous about it. I really hope her heart is still with me.

We make down the hallway towards her classroom, and see that Karlie is greeting one of her other students and their parent. As we get closer, I come to realize it's Toni, and Toni's daughter has already entered the classroom, but Toni is lingering, talking to Karlie. I try to mind my business and not listen in, but I can't help myself.

"You look beautiful today, Kar, I love the way you did your hair," I hear Toni say, and I can't stop my eyes from rolling. I know Toni noticed me, and that's the reason she is saying that.

"Thank you," is all Karlie replies, noticing that Dylan and I are patiently waiting to get into the classroom.

"So, can we talk about last night?" Toni asks Karlie, in a serious tone.

"Yeah, about that-" Karlie starts.

"-Why did you run when I tried to kiss you?" Toni rudely interrupts her, but Karlie doesn't flinch.

"I think I just see you as a friend, you are a great person Toni, and we had a great time talking last night, but it just feels friendly to me," Karlie tries to let her down easy, and I couldn't be happier about it.

"So, you and Miss Swift," she motions towards me, "are fucking?" Toni seems pissed, trying to strike a nerve in Karlie, but Karlie doesn't seem upset by her words, but I am livid. Karlie looks to me, and I know she can see how mad I am.

"Toni-" Karlie starts.

"-Yes, we are," I say, interrupting Karlie, my frustration taking over. Toni looks at me in disbelief, and I instantly regret it, knowing how bad I just fucked up. My emotions got the best of me.

"Alright then," Toni turns around, leaving in a rush, clearly pissed as well, and I am receiving a death glare from Karlie.

"Come in," Karlie says, her tone unreadable. She shuts the door behind us and Dylan runs to her desk to color, "What the fuck, Taylor?" She looks at me in disbelief, frustration present in her tone.

"Karlie, I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me, I-" I try to explain myself.

"-Taylor what are we going to do? What if she tells?" Karlie seems more concerned about me than herself.

"You're not mad at me?" I ask, looking down.

"No, I'm worried for you, your career, Tay," she says, wrapping her arms around my waist.

"I-I should probably call Tree, huh?" I ask, realization kicking in. I could've just fucked up both of our lives right now.

"Let me know what she says, please," Karlie says, kissing my lips, our kiss lasting longer than it probably should in this setting.

"Okay, I will, God, I'm so sorry Karlie," I say, looking into her eyes before turning to Dylan, "Bye sweetie, have a good day, I love you," I tell her before I go.

"I love you too mommy!" She smiles to me before going back to coloring.

"I love you Taylor, no matter how this ends up," Karlie promises me.

"I love you Karlie," I say before leaving. I run to my car, dialing Tree's number immediately.

"Hello?" She answers on the first ring.

"Tree, I fucked up," is all I can manage to say.

"What happened?" She asks calmly, hearing the panic in my voice.
