Karlie's POV
It's Thursday afternoon, about 30 minutes until parents start to begin picking up, and I'm sitting here, at my desk in silence, still going over my last messages and phone call from Taylor on Sunday evening.
Me: Hey Tay, I had such a great time last night, getting to see you perform :)
Tay💕: I did too, thank you for coming.
Me: I hate not being able to see you. I miss you.
She calls after this, to tell me she misses me and my voice, and I tell her I feel the same way. It was about an hour before she seemed to get angry with me, and I still don't know what happened, all I know is she hung up on me, not answering any of the calls or texts I made afterwards. No matter how many times I think about our conversation, I can't find out where things went wrong. We were happy, laughing, talking, then all of a sudden, she got frustrated and hung up, and I've had nothing but silence. This silence has been killing me.
Her bodyguard, Sam has been picking up and dropping Dylan off to school, and I haven't heard from Taylor at all. We are still supposed to have a meeting tomorrow, after school, but I'm not sure she will even show up. The closest thing I have to her right now, is Dylan.
Dylan is currently at her desk working, doing the same as the other children. I am having them practice writing their ABC's in the correct order, writing each letter correctly. I decide to get up, and go check on her.
"Hey Dylan, how are your ABC's coming?" I ask her, crouching next to her desk, so I am on her level. She looks over to me, her eyes just as blue as Taylor's.
"I think I'm getting it Miss Kloss! Look!" She says, holding up her paper.
"That's so great Dylan! Good job, you are doing amazing!" I smile to her, "how is your mommy doing?" I decide to ask for the first time. I can't handle not knowing anymore. Does she not care about me anymore? Did she give up already? Is she as heart broken as I am?
"I think my mommy is sick," Dylan just shrugs to me.
"Is she stuck in bed?" I ask, maybe that's what causing the silence?
"No, she just looks bad," Dylan says, looking back to her paper. I don't know what exactly to take from this conversation, so I convince myself not to overthink it.
The bell finally rings, signally the end of school, and the parents of my children start coming into the classroom to pick their kids up. I greet them as they come in, and say my goodbyes as they leave. There's only about 4 children left, and 7 minutes before the pick up window is over. I sit at my desk, while the four children, Dylan, Carter, a little girl name Elizabeth, and another boy named Weston, surround me, talking with me. Weston's mom walks through the door, seemingly in a rush, grabbing his arm and pulling him out as he waves goodbye to me. Elizabeth's mother, Toni comes in, with Carter's father following right after. They stay and chat with me for a few minutes, and talk with their children about their days. Carter and his dad are the first to leave.
Toni is still here chatting with me, when I see the classroom door open, and I could not believe my eyes. Taylor is here, she actually came to pick up Dylan today. She looks even more beautiful than I remember. She has on black, ripped skinny jeans, paired with a white, short sleeved tank top, and white converse. She has my Ray-Bans on, which I'm surprised to see, and of course, her lips are painted with her iconic red lipstick.
"Miss Kloss, did you hear me?" I hear Toni, Elizabeth's mother say, I turn back to her.
"Oh-Uhm-Sorry, please give me one second, Miss Garrn," I say before standing up to walk towards Taylor.
